On April 19, 1775 The British soldiers were ordered by the king to take the arsenal from the Americans and arrest the leaders of the soon to be revolution as the king suspected that the Americans wanted to separate from the British. When the British came to Lexington the Americans were in panic as they did not expect the British to come and take their weapons or come in general. All of this caused us to lose the one of the first wars of the revolution. Then the British set out again later on to take away the arsenal that the Americans had in Lexington. This was counter acted because of Paul Revere and William Dawes which caused the Americans to be ready for and attack. We got our first win, Lexington.

On June 17th ,1775, the British fought against untrained Americans who fought fiercely killing 228 British solders and wounding about 900 other solders. With all of that power we were still defeated in the first major battle fought in the revolution. We still celebrated because we proved to the British that we would not be taken down easily and we would be a costly battle. The killing were high as there were only 1200 Americans but 2400 British solders.

There were a lot of things that happened there like hunger which killed many American solders. Cold temperatures were also a problem as we did not have winter cloth which risked the chance of a solder dying. This was all happening form December 19 to June 19 over the course of six months in the years of 1777 and 1778.

An artist was going to draw a picture of the event on the time that the treaty was made. The colonies were posing confident and with a victorious win while the British did not want to pose leading to an unfinished drawing.
