He is always gentle and kind to everyone. When you are out for a coffee with him he will jump up and open the door for a stranger with a pram or suitcase or return a trolley for a mum juggling her kids. He moved into a nursing home so he could continue to be with my mum deteriorating with alzheimers. Not only does he help my mum, but sets and clears the tables at meal times to help the carers. My favourite childhood memory is of when he would dress up as Elvis at our birthday parties. It was a hoot. He is my angel and role model.

My dad is one of those people who is knowledgeable about everything! He was full of energy when I was growing up and was a neurosurgeon, which meant he worked an awful lot, but even though I missed him, I knew he was helping save peoples lives. He also was a volunteer rugby coach, a lecturer at Medical College and yet found time to do every conceivable DIY project around the house too! I think the biggest lesson I have learned from my Dad is to never give up and to give your best in whatever you do. Iā€™m so glad to have my Dad in my life! He is my strength and support!
