         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Born in 1835 in Scotland and received little formal education, despite his family's love for books and learning<br>- Came to the U.S. in 1848 and settled in Pennsylvania with his family<br>- Worked a few jobs and eventually moved up to the assistant position to one of Pennsylvania Railroad's top officials in 1853; 3 years later, promoted to superintendent<br>- Left railroad in 1865 to focus on other business interests, such as the Keystone Bridge Company<br>- Through next decade, focused on steel industry and his own business called The Carnegie Steel Company which revolutionized steel production in U.S.; built plants around the country<br>- 1889, Carnegie Steel Corporation became largest of its kind in the world</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Started work in a factory when he was 13 earning $1.20 a week<br>- A year later he became a telegraph messenger and in 1851 he moved up to the telegraph operator position<br>- In 1853, he took a job at the Pennsylvania Railroad working as a telegrapher and the assistant to one of the Railroad's top officials<br>- Through his experience at the railroad, he learned about the industry itself and about business in general, aiding him in the future with his business endeavors <br>- While working for the railroad Carnegie started making investments and found that they brought in substantial returns, so he left to pursue other business interests<br>- Once he left, he started the Carnegie Steel Company which revolutionized steel production in the United States<br>- From age 13 to 65, Carnegie built himself into a successful steel tycoon and ended up making millions for himself</div>]]></description>
