In 1525, the territory had finally come under Spanish control. The Salvadoran territory had become part of the Kingdom of Guatemala in 1609. Later in 1811, a Salvadoran priest, Matías Delgado, led a rebellion once Spain's influence on colonies weakened. Conservative forces that were loyal to spain (from Guatemala) had repelled that rebellion. This had now increased Salvadoran hostility. El Salvador did not quit trying to gain independence. Manuel Jose Arce, Jose Simeon Canas, and Jose Matias Delgado signed the declaration of independence on September 15, 1821, having El Salvador gain its independence from Spain. The country was a part of a federation of Central American states until that union was no longer a thing. When El Salvador gained their independence, it ended the 300 years of Spanish rule. El Salvador used to be part of the Kingdom of Guatemala until 1821. In 1822, authority of Central American Provinces called for a meeting in Guatemala. Guatemala city told everyone to join the first Mexican Empire, but El Salvador declined. This resulted in military bombing them on their ground. Later in 1823, they took their troops back, making provinces to refuse voting to join the Federal Union formed by Mexico.

Mapa:

Bolivia has two capitals that are La Paz and Sucre. If you are from Bolivia your nationality would be boliviano or bolivian in english. Their flag consists of the colors red, yellow and green. The red in the flag represents Bolivia's brave soldiers, the yellow stands for the nations mineral deposits and the green is for fertility. The symbol in the middle of the flag is the Bolivian coat of arms. Bolivia's independence day is August 6th. They were first independent in 1825. Some interesting facts is that the name Bolivia comes from the Venezuelan military and political leader Simon Bolivar who led Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia to independence from Spain in 1825. La Paz is the one of the highest capital city in the world. Bolivia has 37 official languages, the main languages are Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara. And the most popular sport in Bolivia is of course soccer. The most popular dish in Bolivia is Salteñas, and it is savory pastries filled with beef, pork, or chicken mixed in a sweet, slightly spicy or very spicy sauce, and sometimes also containing peas, potatoes and other things. The national flag of Ecuador, which consists of horizontal bands of yellow (double width), blue and red, was first adopted by law in 1835 and later on 26 September 1860.

*History: The natives of Ecuador grew crops of maize, beans, potatoes and squash. They kept Animals such as dogs and guinea pigs for meat. Many were very skilled potters and metalworkers in gold, silver and copper. However towards the later 15th century, they were conquered by the Incas. The spaniards first sighted the coast of Ecuador in 1526 and they soon turned to conquest. The spaniards conquered what’s now Ecuador in 1534. They had already conquered the Incas in what’s now Peru. Though, Inca resistance continued further north. Francisco Pizarro’s follower, Sebastian de Benalcazar led another army into Ecuador from the south and eventually destroyed the remaining Incas resistance in the region. In the 18th century Ecuador suffered an economic recession. Furthermore in future times people became very irritated and disconnected with Spanish rule and of course held an uprising. Ecuador broke away again in 1820 and the people appealed to Simon Bolivar for help. His lieutenant Antonio Jose de Sucre won the battle of Pichincha on May 24th, 1822, which granted Ecuador full independence. They became part of Gran Colombia and Venezuela.

Mapa:

Spain tried to control their richest territories which led to neglect of poor colonies, The first local movements against Spanish rule in Central America occurred in 1811, when the Province of El Salvador staged a revolt everybody was in on it and demanded less repressive laws from Spain. Although the Province of Nicaragua officially refused to join the rebellion, a popular uprising soon broke out. Violence and political rivalry prevailed in all of the Central American colonies during the decade. Establishment of an independent Nicaragua came in stages. The first stage occurred in 1821 when the Captaincy General of Guatemala formally declared its independence from Spain on September 15, which is still celebrated as independence day. Under a weak federal government, each province created its own independent internal administration. Inadequate communication and internal conflicts, however, Efforts to centralize power led to civil war between 1826 and 1829. The federation finally dissolved in 1837, Nicaragua declared complete independence on April 30th 1838

Their independence was claimed in Guatemala City. Honduras didn't go for becoming their own government, instead they got accepted to be part of the first Mexican Empire in 1823. Honduras wanted all of Central America to join together and be whole. They also became part of the United Provinces of Central America and held annual elections since 1838. The fight for independence was led by Francisco Morazan. They also got their independence from Mexico in 1823. In honduras they celebrate their independence very passionately. All schools close while the children go out in the parade and participate in things like dancing and making music. Most adults will sit on the side of the street to watch the parade pass by. THe celebration can take up to three days. Sometimes their independence celebration starts on September first as you can see kids marching down the street. If you go to Honduras during their celebration it can be a hassle because most highways shut down to let the passing parades pass by. During independence day Honduras is decorated in blue and white to correlate to their flag.

Video:https://youtu.be/b1CeG_KeOG8

Mapa:

President Roosevelt gave approval for rebellion with panama nationalists which began on Nov. 3rd, 1903. Other Columbian forces were discouraged from marching on Panama by the arrival of the United States ship ‘Nashville’. It had many different names over the years because it was first colonized by Portugal. It is a Spanish speaking country because of its original colonization by Portugal in 1471, but later given to Spain so they could conduct trade into Africa. In 1968, the Spanish government proposed a constitution for an independent republic and was approved. In 1972, Francisco Macías Nguema introduced a constitution that named him president for life, making him the first president of Guinea Ecuatorial. On Independence Day, public facilities are closed and many celebrations, parades, and festivals are held. It is very similar to how we celebrate Independence Day in the United States.

https://youtu.be/3pfFVK-ZLGE

Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. On September 16, 1810, he sent out a call to arms to the people of Mexico known as the “Grito de Dolores” ( also known as the Cry of Dolores) beginning the 10 year struggle for independence from Spain. Hidalgo originally began the revolution going village to village en route to Mexico City recruiting a militia to fight the Spaniards along the way. He left behind death and carnage everywhere he went.
When he reached the city of Calderón he met with Spaniards and was defeated. After defeat he fled north but was captured, and later executed by a firing squad in Chihuahua. After Hidalgo’s death others took control of the rebellion, such as José María Morelos y Pavón, Mariano Matamoros, and Vicente Guerrero.
These men led many armies of indigenous and racially mixed people against the Spanish loyalists in a war known as the Mexican War of Independence. This led to the treaty of Córdoba which established Mexico as an independent constitutional monarchy under Agustín de Iturbide. Only 18 months later he republican insurgents Antonio López de Santa Anna and Guadalupe Victoria removed the emperor and established the first Mexican Republic.

All except for Cuba and Puerto Rico. Cuba did not want to stay under the governing of Spain. People of Cuba started a rebellion but it was unfortunately struggling to stay afoot as the Spanish has many soldiers. The U.S having businesses their and having many U.S residents, and they constantly made trade with Cuba they decided to aid the rebellion in gaining independence. The U.S made the final decision to declare war on Spain when the U.S ship Maine was sunk while they were visiting Havana, Cuba. The americans ultimately blamed the spanish but nobody actually knows what caused the ship to explode. The war started surprisingly in the Harbor of Manila of the philippine islands which was ruled by spain at the time. The U.S sent a fleet their and they defeated the Spanish fleet in the harbor. Soldiers were deployed in cuba to help with the fight that was occuring there. The war was very costly for the spanish. This war between the Spanish and the Americans/Cubans lasted for about 4 months. Spain ended up signing a peace treaty on December 10th, 1889.

Bandera:

The war is said to have began during 1810, and ended in 1821. The act of mexico gaining its independence had the help of some events that happened in europe. At the beginning of 1810, Miguel Hidalgo, who was a parish priest of the small town of Dolores in central Mexico, called out for Mexico’s independence, crying out for the liberation from Spain and the end of slavery. On September 16, 1810, Hidalgo launched the Mexican War of Independence with the issuing of his Grito de Dolores, or “Cry of Delores.” His reputation was affected, and he was later captured and executed, but his cry’s set motion to the rest of Mexico, to fight for their independence. After Hidalgo failed to instigate a revolution, another revolutionary priest named Jose Maria Morelos and an army general named Agustin lturbide, who was the leader of the royalist forces, continued the struggles for independence. The Plan of Iguala was a proclamation which Iturbide authored together with the rebel leader Vicente Guerrero. It proclaimed Mexico’s independence from Spain while reaffirming the country’s alliance with the Roman Catholic Church. On August 24, 1821, with the signing of the Treaty of Córdoba, Spain finally recognized the independence of the First Mexican Empire. This marked the official beginning of Mexico’s independence from Spain.

Panama first became independent of Spain in 1821, and then became a part of the Gran Colombia confederacy that was Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela. Although, the Gran Colombia ends up collapsing so Panama just becomes a part of Colombia in 1830. Panama later declares its independence from Columbia on November 3, 1903. Panama had attempted to separate from Colombia multiple times, because they were not getting many benefits from being with Colombia at all. This was also difficult for Panama because Colombia had the support of the USA. Shortly their separation, Panama was trying to build a canal to help benefit their economy. Theodore Roosevelt had been trying to build a canal there as well. Since Colombia refused to negotiate the topic of building a canal, it made it easier to make this plan happen if Panama was its own state. This was a perfect time for Panama to secede, so they did.
