When she found about her when she was 16 there wasn't any resources and all the info about her was just her name. She found it really important for people and herself to learn about Henrietta because her cells have made such a huge impact.

Henrietta felt a knot in her uterus. She was bleeding from her cervix. She wasn't on her period or because of birth. It was because she felt a lump inside her. She went to the doctor to check what it was. She was tested positive for STDs.

John Hopkins Hospital served black and poor patients for free.

Telinde was trying to prove that situ will just lead to invasivce cancer. "Women with carcinoma in situ needed aggresive treament, so their cancer didn't become invasive."

Dr. Gey got Henrietta's cells from Dr. Lawrence Wharton who was doing a procedure and took a sample of her cancer cells and normal cells from her cervix.

4/17: Ch 4: The Birth of HeLa

Mary was the one who would handle most of the tissue samples that came through the door and it was noticed that all the patients from TeLinde's died.

Margeret would feed the cells so they could stay alive and keep growing.

4/18: Ch 5. Henrietta and her treamnet

We learned she was acute gonorrhea, her skin from her breast to her pelvis, and she can't have any more kids.

Galen was obssed with Henrietta. He followed her everywhere she went. Galen liked Henrietta more than his wife Ethel

They didn't tell her about the treatment that they took her uterus and she is being poisoned.

4/19: Ch 7. Dr. Carrel

Dr. Carrel supported Hitler and he was a liar because he tricked people into beliving he discorded an immortal chicken heart. His view were that only rich,white, and educated people should live. He wanted to exterminate all blacks, poor, and uneducated.

4/18: Ch. 8. Henrietta's final days

It was painful. She was in a lot of pain. She wasn't able to see her family anymore. The doctors ran out of a cure for Henrietta.
