Unfortunately, the ship was under attack. Casabianca's father had died from the attack and was lying on the floor near Casabianca. after the attack, casabianca had to escape but he was surrounded by fire and did not attempt to escape like the other crew members. this is because, casabianca has always obeyed his father and would only do things when his father says so.
