The relationship with the Native Americans and the Europeans wasn't bad at all. The Europeans brought a lot of diseases that the Native Americans had no immunity against them. When the Puritans began to arrive in the New World, their religion affected their attitudes toward Native Americans. The Native Americans were good farmers and grew different things like squash, pumpkins, and beans in the same fields. With all the little the Native Americans had, they shared as much as they could toward the Europeans.

Later on, the women colonists took on the traditional women roles, like house and raising the children

The children began working as early as the age of four or five. Small children helped by weeding flax plants. The work of girls was closely related to the home and the work of her mother. Girls learned to sew, knead bread, and took care of the younger kids. Boys worked mostly outdoors by way of caring for animals and crops. Boys also used jackknives to carve wood into spoons, bowls, and breadboards. They were also required to read the bible and write.

The men did most of the heavy work.
The Puritans were allowed to make their own laws. At the center of each Puritan village was a meeting house. At the meeting house, the men of the village met to make the laws and settle the problems of the community. The Puritans wanted every child to read the bible.
