Erosion is steps sediment and other materials are moved place to place by a stream, rain water and a river. Erosion can cause rivers and streams to deepen and widen, which also affects the bank and whats on the bank around the river/ stream. The materials that have been eroded away come are carried from runoff from a storm or from the stream bed. Erosion also ties into deposition because the materials that are eroded away end up being deposited somewhere.

Deposition is when a eroded material is deposited somewhere else other than its origin. Deposition happens when the gravity on the object is greater than the pull of any pushing or flowing water or wind. Deposition usually happens when the water or wind affecting the sediment slows down.
