         <description><![CDATA[<div>This handheld device rapidly detects multiple metabolites on a single chip in a fingertip-sized sensor ("Science Fiction Inspired Handheld Diagnostic Device"). It only requires a drop of body fluid (either blood or urine) and results are displayed on an program that is interfaced with an individuals smartphone ("Science Fiction Inspired Handheld Diagnostic Device"). Each of these metabolites (choline, xanthine, sarcosine, cholestrol) are implicated in one or more critical disease states (Patil et al., 2018). This device provides results in 2 minutes or less allowing for expedited therapeutic management which results in improved outcomes for myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, acute renal failure, and prostate cancer (Patil et al., 2018). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Accessibility:  Patil et al. (2018) states the device can only be linked to Android- based user interface and not every practitioner utilizes that interface.<br><br>Cost: The cost of the device or the cartridges are not mention however it claims to be a low cost alternative (Science Fiction Inspired Handheld Diagnostic Device"). It also does not mention the cost to the patient and if the is reimbursed by insurances. <br><br>Validity:  Results are only mentioned in comparison to other single chip POC systems (Patil et al., 2018). It does not mention the comparisons to actual lab results. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my opinion this device could be a very beneficial in a practitioner's office or for use in bedridden patient's by home health companies. Knowing these lab results quickly could help to expedite care and prevent further damage to vital organs such as heart attack or stroke.  It may also facilitate early treatment of prostate cancer. Early detection of cancer can help increase the probability of remission and prevent metastasis.  In healthcare prevention is key.</div>]]></description>
