Coaching in ESL is a definite need for all new ESL teachers especially. The licensure requirements are so bare bones. The license does not adequately prepare teachers. Even some experienced teachers use the grammar-translation approach, which is not effective nor research-based.

Additionally, Lexia PowerUp has been very helpful for our high 2s and ELD 3s - we have this through a pilot program this year. We also recently acquired Language! Live (VoyagerSopris) through a grant, and this is for our 6th grade level 2s and 3s as well as our long-term ELD 3s as a Tier 2 intervention.
