My original search for 'Dallas Cowboys' using Microsoft Bing

After searching the term "Hunting Jacket" in both Google and Yahoo earlier this week, I opened Yahoo and a Bass Pro Shop advertisement immediately popped up. I allowed cookies on the sites I clicked and so now the "targeting cookies" are at work. I did not even have to look up Bass Pro Shop for them to show me a Hunting Jacket. They assumed my persona fir their target customer since I searched for it not realizing I was only doing it for this purpose. I followed it through but I was surprised it showed my 'local store' being Lawrenceville, Georgia instead of St. Louis. Thus, their tracking only went so far and the algorithm they use is tracking me because they think that my persona is their target customer.

After searching 'Dallas Cowboys' on multiple search engines and websites, I surprisingly did not gently ads targeted toward me even though I accepted cookies. I thought that this was a little odd, and so I entered my email to receive updates from the Dallas Cowboys website. They then proceeded to send me an email and it said I already had an account, which I did, but it was with Fanatics and associated with the NHL St. Louis Blues. I realized that their website was using another site Fanatics.com a site used to sell sports merch to fans. They were using targeting cookies to track my email and noticed I had already made an account with Fanatics. They then tried to get me to sign up for FanCash, which I did not want to do. This was there way of trying to sell to me Dallas Cowboys merch.
