Given the diversity in our HEL-101 class in age, background, language, and goals it’s vital to create a space where all voices are heard and valued.

Drawing on Transformative Learning Theory (Mezirow), we know that adults learn best when they reflect on past experiences and feel safe to challenge old beliefs. Building belonging fosters the trust required for that reflection.

By using collaborative activities, honoring lived experiences, and supporting tech accessibility, this course will help learners feel connected and seen key ingredients for persistence and success.
