For this drawing I used my dominant hand. For the first drawing I had 5 minutes to draw as detailed as I could. I feel like I could've added a lot more detail into this such as shading because I had more time. Considering this drawing was done with my dominant had I am not very impressed with the outcome of it. I would love to go back into this with more detail.

For this drawing I was given 3 minutes to also try and get as much detail as I could.

With this one I was timed for 1 minute to complete this one line drawing. I found this one quite difficult as I had to get as much detail in as I could with just one line. As difficult as I found this I really enjoyed doing a continuous line drawing. I am really happy with the way it turned out and happy the drawing is still recognisable.

In this piece I created a drawing using only dots. I was timed for 2 minutes to try and add as much detail as I possibly could. I found this one difficult as trying to create a picture out of dots is rather hard. I edited the picture to make it stand out a lot more and I added a filter to give it some effect. I quite like the way this drawing turned out, you can still tell what the object is meant to be.

My drawing is poorly done as I rushed the whole thing so I could complete the whole drawing and try adding a bit of detail. I didnt manage to get as much detail as the other drawings as I have a short amount of time. I added a filter on top of my picture to enhance the lines of my drawing.

on my second induction I had a task and to bring in 2 objects to work with. I chose a bottle and a sharpener as seen in the drawings. on my first day of the course I was given a task and it was to draw my object 5 times. firstly, the drawing was with my dominant hand[right]in 5 minutes, secondly, the drawing was with my non dominant hand[left]in 3 minutes, thirdly, I did a drawing with one continuous line in 2 minutes, fourthly, I did a drawing using only dots to create the image in 1 minute, and finally I created a drawing in 30 seconds trying ton get in as much as the object as I possible could. I had taken pictures of drawings with my phone camera and uploaded it on here to show my completion of the drawing, the first three pictures are basic boring pictures but the last two I have played around with and edited them, turning the contrast up to make the drawing stand out more.

For this picture I used 1 sheet of purple acetate, I only needed one sheet for this as purple gives off more of a darker tone. I added a filter to this picture to make it stand out a bit more than it originally would’ve, the filter added different tones throughout which makes it look more gloomy. It added various shadows all around the object, as I used ink on the bottle the filter draws more attention towards that.

For this I used a couple layers of the orange sheets to create emotion and effect. I added more layers of the acetate sheets to create more of a deeper colour, the more sheets the colourful it is. The orange colour gives my bottle a nice outstanding shadow In the background. I think this colour highlights my object really well.

This picture is my favourite one out of the other 3, using red what a good idea for this object. I believe it adds some emotion to this picture, as my object can be quite dangerous the red layer over the light gives it an angry emotion. Red can mean angry or dangerous that is why I thought using red acetate sheets for this would look good. I used Atleast 3 red sheets to give it a dark red colour, I like the way it brings out the small shadow beneath the sharpener.

It gives it a nice cold look, it makes the background look so clean but has outlined the shadow leaving it looking quite bold. I personally think the blue colour really draws attention towards the sharpener.

I had fun mixing up colours and taking pictures of my objects at all different angles, this was new for me as I’ve never experimented with the acetate sheets before I’d really enjoy doing something like this again, I really like that It gave my objects so much emotion and effect. I added pictures with some description of how I feel about them and described them a bit, I tried taking the pictures at different angles so they didn’t all look the same. This was my favourite part of the project so far.

During this module we had experimented with a lot of different techniques, some techniques I have never approached before. Examples of techniques we have tried are using coloured acetate sheets to create colour and emotion for the pictures of our objects. To start with I found this module quite difficult as the objects I chose were hard to do things with, I chose a bottle and a sharpener and I thought these objects were hard to form a relationship with. Mostly, the sharpener was hard to use as it was such a small object and didn't have much area to work with although the textures were really nice to use as some mark making. My bottle on the other hand was a bit different as it was a much larger object to work with, the texture on the bottle was also really nice to use for mark making too. The first task of this module was a speed drawing workshop and I really enjoyed this as it made me realise I can do something I didn't think I could achieve. Such as drawing with my non-dominant hand, I personally think my left hand drawing turned out a lot better than my right hand drawing considering I also had 2 minutes less time than my dominant hand drawing. The mark making activity was really good for me as I got to experiment using different tools, I liked using the wax and ink. When I used the wax and ink I noticed how the ink resists from sticking onto the wax and just leaves the outline of the wax visible. The photography side of this project was my favourite as I enjoy taking pictures, I took pictures of all my work through the process of completing it although I decided I could’ve made the pictures a lot more approachable by editing my final pictures and adding filters on to them to enhance them a lot more than they originally were. I did add filters onto some of my pictures but not all. Next time I have to take pictures of my work I will approach it a different way by adding filters to all of my pictures. I found this photography project a lot easier than the other parts of this module as I really like to focus on the lighting, image and surroundings and other elements that create a nice picture. Another aspect of this module that I enjoyed was making my Gif of my broken sharpener. To do this I used the Gif maker by Momento app, my Gif is representing my broken sharpener starting really close together and gradually moving apart. At first I found this activity quite difficult as I've never made a Gif before, I had made some drafts of Gifs as practice before I made my real one. This technique was enjoyable and very new to me, I would like to incorporate this in my future projects as it's interesting to see movement. I enjoyed exploring different methods and I did this by doing 9 5X5cm boxes to draw my objects in. The methods I used was; a continuous line, contour line, contour drawing, volume, cross hatching, surface texture, emotional texture, simplification and straight edges only. I enjoyed doing this activity and I got to experiment with different techniques I've never used before.

Overall I found this module extremely interesting, I learned a lot of new techniques which will benefit me and broaden my range of skills and make me more comfortable trying new techniques and art styles. This module will make me approach different modules differently and positively.
