This program was a successful use of the federal money due to all the reformations it has done to the society. In less than 10 years, the Civilian Conservation Corps built more than 800 parks and planted nearly 3 billion trees nationwide and between 1933 and 1941, more than 3,000,000 men served in the CCC.

Some of the criticism included a concern over a move toward a socialist state, concerns about its enormous cost, and concerns that it would destroy the strength of the unions. There was also discrimination among African Americans and other minorities which encountered numerous difficulties in the CCC. Some camps were segregated.
