This quote is trying to motivate you. It is trying to get you to help change what you believe in instead of waiting for others to do it for you. I think problems he could be referring to is the black lives matter movement. People are protesting and trying to speak up to get others attention about this movement. Current changes our country needs is to treat everyone equally and not judge people for who they love because everyone is different and everyone deserves to be able to feel equal and be treated equal even if people don't have the same beliefs.

The quote means to that WE are the people that needs to start and change the world instead of wait for the future. One problem Obama is referencing could be the waste in the oceans. The second problem could be the world hunger and or helping people who are homeless. Our country needs to help fight against Covid, We need to help fight for black lives and others who are less fortunate.

1. This quote to me means that you shouldn't wait for someone to make the change, you should step up and make the change yourself. Obama wants us younger people and the new generations to make the difference because we are the future.
2. I believe that Obama is referring to racism and discrimination. This is the biggest issue in modern day life. People in the u.s are not united with each other but instead fighting against each other and it needs to stop.
3. No matter what gender or skin color you have you should be treated the same. We need the nativist to stop discriminating against people who move into our country. We should welcome them because then there is variety.

I think that this quote means that we can change what we want about the world and we don't have to wait for someone else to do it for us. So it's basically just saying that we can speak up for change to get what we want we don't need to wait around for other people. With racial discrimination we need to speak up for the black lives matter movement. Black people get treated unequally and it's not fair. We need to speak up to get our voice heard. Another thing we need to speck up for is the police system. Black people also get discriminated against by cops and they have to worry about police brutality. Black people shouldn't have to worry about this everyday but they do and it's not ok.

Some problems I think he is referring to is gender inequality, racism, poverty, immigration and world hunger. Now these days our country just need to come together and help each other out. We need to stop making each other feel bad about who we are and what we want to be. If we all do not come together the world will just fall apart. If we work together this world could be a lot better of a place.

-This quote means to me that we can't ignore issues that arise, and we can't go against each other. People need to join together and make positive changes to the world, and use our voices to benefit ourselves and others. We have to step up, and fix these issues so the future is brighter.
-I think Barack Obama is referring to inequality between races (like the Black Lives Matter movement), gender inequality, nativism (favoring those born in the country over immigrants), anarchists (people who believe in no government and go against it), women's rights, and child labor. All of these issues are unfair to specific groups of people, and need to be improved to ensure a better world.
-Current changes our country needs are racial and gender equality, and a complete stop to nativism. People shouldn't be judged on what their race or gender is, and whether or not they are native born. People are capable of anything, regardless of where they come from.

1. I think that this quote means that we are the answer to change. We need to take action instead of just sitting around waiting for other to make the changes necessary for our people to get along and be one. Obama wants our generation to take charge and be independent. He wants us to do what is right for our community and our country.
2.One issue still going on is racism. Blacks still get treated differently because of their skin color. It is not right and needs to change. Another issue is racial injustice. It goes along with racism. Many people see blacks as criminals and see them differently as whites. So people act different ways around blacks as whites. Also immigration/ nativism still occurs. People will say that if immigrants can keep coming into our country they will steal our jobs and those jobs are ours because we where here first.
3. One change our country needs to fix is racial injustice and treating blacks differently. Blacks are people too and deserve to be treated like it. They didn't do anything wrong they just look different from us and that is not a bad thing. They shouldn't be treated differently because of it.

I think this quote is talking about how we need to change how we act because no one and nothing can do that for us. If we want something to change in the world we live in, we have to do ourselves. During these past years, we've only faced things like racism and sexuality. Things like this can get you hated on real quick for no reason. I get that this is America and we can do what we want but the things some people do because of things like race and sexuality are just wrong. But a problem that doesn't involve these things is pollution, we are destroying our own home and it seems like a lot of people just don't care. People continue throwing their trash anywhere they like, cars are polluting our air, trees are getting cut down to make space for this already overpopulated world, thousands of animals big or small are being killed everyday. We have a lot of problems that need fixing that only take working together. If we cant even do that then are we really even smarter than a fish? All we need to do is work together to save earth and humanity, some people just don't get that.

Also that with the newer generations to come we need to step up our game to make our country and world a better place for them.

2) I think he is referring to gender equality, race equality, who we love and more. The reason why I think this is because in the past ten years more women have been able to do so much more in our society. Also there is less racism then there was ten+ years ago, and that people are able to love who they want to and have the freedom to marry them.

3) The current change we need in our country is to not be racist anymore. With all that has been going on this year has made the racism in out country so much worse than it was a few years ago. We also need a better way for women to be respected because even with all the laws passed about women's rights the women of our country are still being treated horribly.

This quote means to me that we can't wait around for change we have to work for it and that people are the change. Some of the issues that this could relate to is the black lives matter movement, immigration, lgbtq+ rights and so much more. An example of what changes we need is the black lives matter movement. Black people have been fighting for equality for over 100 years; ever since the civil war. There is no reason for people to be treated differently because of the color of their skin or where they came from. It doesn't matter what someone looks like on the outside it's what their personality is like. Another example is lgbtq+ rights which are being threatened. Same 🤬 marriage was legalized 5 years ago but the community still isn't treated equally. Why care about destroying something that doesn't even effect you. We can't wait around for a sudden change we have to educate ourselves on what is going on in the word and do something to push that change.

1. This quote means that the world we live in right now, needs a change. In all the diversity that has happened in life, it needs a change to make the world a better place for everyone to feel loved and welcome because are are all the same, but just different in our own way.
2. In the past ten years, the amount of racial tensions has got to stop because everyone should feel welcome with open arms, think less about a darker past and look forward for a brighter future, Where everyone is treated the same not just disrespected for being a different races or sexuality or religion.
3. The current changes that the world needs in this day and age is the racial tensions that stick to people. The disrespect for people that have feelings on different sexuality. Not being stereotypes for being a curtain religion. The problems that have stuck with us for centuries we need to let go and think less of. We can make a difference in this world by just doing one thing and putting differences aside and just treating people how we would like to be treated. We can make a difference and that starts with us, if we don't do anything our world will crumble and have nothing less because we can't think about our actions and how to make the world a better place for us and more generations to come. WE need to work for change, not saying it will take a could days because it will take a lot of time to work on ourselves and Country. I think that Mr. Obama is talking about the problem of respect and kindness to everyone. Races, religions, gender, and just differences between people. I feel that we were brought up to notice the different and bad in people before we notice how much we all have in common. I feel our Country just needs go grow awareness of others, to see that yes we are all different and learn to respect it and be kind. If we all grew to have respect upon one another and especially ourselves then we would have a lot less problems in out world now.

To me, this quote means that we have the ability to change the way our world treats people and handles problems/crisis's. While saying this, we also do not do anything about it. The United states faces so many issues with discrimination on race, sexuality, religion and beliefs and more. I believe that people should all be treated as equals and that what they look like or who they like, or what they like to do does not and should not define what time of person they are. It saddens me that in 2020 we are still facing the same problems we were facing over 100 years ago. I think President Obama is referring to the black lives matter movement. The BLM has been going on for so long and while blacks have gained some rights, they are absolutely not treated equal to whites, the US is consumed by racism and homophobia and negativity and nothing is being done to get us out of it.Our control needs to take action on helping black lives and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I believe that this quote is saying that we can't sit around and expect other people to fight our battles for us. We have to do something and be the change that future generations, and the world as a whole, years to come want to see. Throughout not only Obama's presidency, but the decade we just completed. Events such as 9/11, stricter immigration laws, mass shootings, the BLACK LIVES MATTER Movement, and etc. These events have changed and shaped our country forever. I feel now we are using our voice, and our generation is breaking the barriers on silence, and we now protest, march, and are sure to speak out if we strongly disagree with something. Currently we need to make sure we take control of Covid-19. Getting more ventilators to hospitals, helping doctors and nurses mentally who see people die daily, emphasize the importance of getting flu shots as well because we are in flu season, and the plus Covid is not a good match. The internet has made such a big change and is a huge part in all of our lives. Using our platforms to speak out about these events is just as important as well.

The issues that Obama could be pushing for or talking about change in is maybe racial injustice or global warming. We need to learn that everyone is different and stop the police brutality against blacks, and we also need to figure out a way to stop this virus from spreading even more than it already has. Now more than ever our country needs to change in these aspects of life because of the fact that if we don't terrible things will happen in our country and we will go into a plumbit of terrible tragedies.

There are obvious issues that need to be solved, and we can't wait for the next leader to solve it for us. We must wake up and realize that we have the power, we have to be the change in the world.
2. The issues I think Obama is referring to are racism, terrorism, sexism, poverty, and any oppression. All of these things are very present in America, and they are starting to surface now more than before. Systematic racism is real, xenophobia is real, homophobia is real,(there are more) and they all play a part in our government and law.
3. I believe our country and our political leaders need to stop turning a blind eye to systematic racism, and clear bias and small acts of oppression towards all minorities. They need to make this a priority, America is supposed to be a free country and yet we limit certain people to certain things because of who they are. I want people to see that America isn't perfect and it needs a lot of work so that there truly is "liberty and justice for ALL"

1- This quote means to me that change doesn't just happen by itself. It shows that you have to make change happen ourselves instead of just waiting for it to happen.
2- One of the problems he is referring to is racial inequality and all of the race discrimination. This is because of the black lives matter movement and all of the protests that have happened in the past and that are still happening. Also he is talking about the problems that nobody is completely equal because of their race and that their race makes them less important to society
3- A current change our country needs is a solution to the corona virus and a vaccine to make life normal again.

This quote means to me that we as people need to do something if we want a change. We can't just wait until something happens instead we need to do a change right now. Also nothing is going to happen if we just wait and expect it to happen. We have so many problems as of the year 2020, we have racism, homophobia, gun problems, police brutality, and so much more that needs to end. I think he is trying to refer to 9/11, racism,BLM movement, Homophobia, Covid-19, gender inequality, and so much more. Our country really needs to open up their eyes and look at how bad this country is. We obviously have multiple serious problems that need to be solved right now or else its just going to get worse. America needs to see that every race is still human, that includes black, asian, muslim, indian, everybody not just white people. People shouldn't have to live in fear all because of their skin tone, or their religious backgrounds, or who they love. Our country needs a huge turn around.

For me, this quote means to act now and not sit around. We are part of the problem, so the sooner we act, the sooner our problems will go away. I think that Barack Obama is referring to racial tensions, because in racial tensions, everybody is part of the problem, which means everybody needs to contribute something in order to help resolve these tensions. I think that his meaning still applies today because we have higher racial tensions than normal. We need to resolve these tensions because when there is too much tension on a string, the string will snap. This means that America will fall apart if the tension is not resolved. Just like in the 1800's there was a lot of tension between the North and South and what they wanted for their country and what they believed was right. So, there was a civil war because the tensions were not able to be put away in time.

1. This quote is important to me and the majority of people. This quote is important because Obama is telling us to act on change and that it won't change unless we do some thing about it. This generation in general expects everything to be right at their finger tips right when they ask for it and this is kind of like a wake up call. Lots of things such as 9/11 and all the riots and protests are examples of us acting and changing the way things should happen or fighting for our country or rights.

He could be referring to corona, racism, and stuff like that. I mainly think he is going after racism because corna wasn't here when he was in presidency. He is also could be talking about 9/11. We made the change to put more security before entering a plane. 3. We need to find a vaccine for corona because this is the main cause in our world.

We can't expect that when we ask for something we will just get it. Because most people have that mentality less people are fighting for what they believe in.
2. I think Barack Obama is referring to the black lives matters movement.
3. I think we need to work on better uniting people that are different.

Also we can't wait for changes, we can't wait for changes to happen from other people.
2. We've had a lot of issues with racisms overtime and we're still struggling to be equal to everyone around the world.
3. We need to make everyone aware of what is happening in the U.S, this pandemic has been going around for a while, and it's still going, we need to get people to change their way on how they view the pandemic and start listening to the doctors, not Trump, not their mom, but the doctors who have spent months trying to get a vaccine and avoid the spread of the virus.

1. I think that this quote to me means that if there is something in the world that you wish was different and would change, instead of waiting for somebody else to do something about it, take action and fight for what you want to change.
2. I think the issues that he was referring to the way people see each other, for example homophobia, discrimination, racism, segregation, and the acts that people have tried to take to change them like the Black Lives Movements. He could also be talking about gender equality and how people have taken action to be seem the same.
3. In our current time, changes that should be made are most of the issues that have been around like racism against others, violence, police brutality. Another problem that needs to change is the pandemic going around, Covid, and we all need to stay safe and try to find a solution to the problem. Its good that people are trying to take a stand to the problems and change them so we could have a better world and future.
