(Ch. 5) The author included this line to really exaggerate how angry he was.<br><br>✰<strong>Simile-¨</strong>Kino had a rifle across his arm and Juana carried her shawl like a sack over her shoulder.¨ (Ch. 6) The author added this detail to give the readers an idea of how Juana is carrying her shawl. </div>]]></description>

It's also used to show what something worth a lot can do to people and how it can change them.<br><br>✰The Canoe symbolizes the impoftance and value of family. It also represents that even if you can buy a new one it won't be the same or as good to you because the other one because it was important and had more value to you because your family members had passed down something they cherished and loved to you.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>✰<strong>External-</strong>A external conflict from this story was when kino went to sell the pearl to the pearl buyers but they were offering him to little because they wanted to take advantage of him, but kino knew the pearl was worth more and argued with them.<strong><br><br></strong>✰<strong>Internal-</strong>A example of a internal conflict is that Kino knows the pearl if evil but he decided to keep it because he rather make money off of it. Although in the end he realizes it was a mistake to keep the pearl and he throws it back into the water. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> ✰<strong>Kino- </strong>Independent, masculine, stubborn, hopeful, and demanding.<br>✰<strong>Quote</strong>-¨I am a man¨-(Ch. 4)<br> <br>At the begging of the book, Kino was content with his life and happy with his family even though he did´t. However after discovering the pearl the need to make money and have lots of money increased. For a little bit he was just focused on the money but at the end the he realized that  family is more important than anything.<strong><br><br></strong>✰<strong>Juana-</strong>Caring, Superstitious, religious,  intelligent, and family oriented.  <br>✰<strong>Quote- </strong>“She knew she could help him best by being silent and by being near.” -(Ch. 4)<br><br>At the beginning of the book, Juana was content with her life. Though she didn't have much, she had her family. When Kino acquired the pearl, she believed all their problems would be solved, and they would become rich. She later finds out that will bring nothing but evil into their lives.At the end of the book, she realizes that she risked her family for nothing. </div>]]></description>
