Using interactive activities within lessons allows students to take a more hands-on approach to learning.

We can use websites like ed-puzzle where you can add questions into YouTube videos. This then pauses the video to ask a question to the students. This is really beneficial to assess learning as you can still use other means of learning like videos, without students passively watching the video.

Link:

https://edpuzzle.com

We can also use plickers, where students are assigned their own individual QR code and they must rotate the QR code to answer the question. The teacher scans the QR code on their device and gives us immediate results on who is struggling.

The QR code allows for group assessment while also allowing students answers to remain secret as each QR code is different so other students won't be able to see if someone's answer is right or wrong.

Link:

https://www.plickers.com/login
