Mitchell overcame much skepticism, even Mitchell's mother told him, “You can't make a living as a black man painting pictures.”Later in his career, Mitchell went on to win a $2,000 prize at a London art competition, and was dismayed when Hallmark officials told him to quit entering art contests and to concentrate solely on his illustration work at the company. Mitchell wanted to do both.After leaving Hallmark, Mitchell supported himself by entering art competitions and gallery shows. In about two weeks, both Middle and High School students will be taking Exams. Many of our students will be returning to their zone school or to another Pinellas County school. You will be receiving a letter from Pinellas Secondary the week of December 18, 2017, notifying you of what school your child will be returning to. This placement is done by the Pupil Assignment Office. Please read the information and contact the new school to make an appointment for registration.
