         <description><![CDATA[<p>I now use the terms soft and hard more power more when framing types of intervention. I also used the activity where students consider which quotation best captures the motives behind U.S. foreign policy and then stand next to the quote in a spectrum-esque activity. Seeing where students congregated was really interesting. I also used the lecture and lesson materials around the topic of American Exceptionalism with my students and discussed it re: Putin's op-ed in the New York Times.</p>]]></description>
