Initial supervision of a new SLPA is typically 20% for the first 90 days and is adjusted as they become competent

Individuals shall accurately represent the intended purpose of a service, product, or research endeavor and shall abide by established guidelines for clinical practice and the responsible conduct of research, including humane treatment of animals involved in research.

Tasks include assisting the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without interpretation

Assisting the SLP during the assessment of students, patients, and clients exclusive of administration and/or interpretation

Following documented treatment plans or protocols that are designed and supervised by an ASHA-certified SLP
