Whenever a doctor would walk by the waiting room my heart would pump even faster. I was wondering what is happening? Will she be okay? I wonder what it was? What if she doesn't make it?

I was patiently waiting for them to call me in for my job interview. I could feel a roller coaster swirling around in my stomach and my blood rushing to my head. Shaking, they finally called me in the room. I felt as if my life depended on this moment. As the moment was happening I felt my heart beat out of my chest.

My heart was beating faster than a car driving on the highway. I was breathing short, rapid breaths. My eyes were filling with water, and fear had struck them. I kept thinking, who do these people think they are?. It seems quite hot in the waiting room and my hands are slippery from what seems to be sweat. I can't seem to sit still for a one second. My toes are lightly tapping the floor very quickly. It feels a bit uncontrolled. My right hand is resting over my left hand and my nails are slightly digging into my left hand. I can't take this anymore.

I knew that I was getting a shot when I get out of this room. The reception ladies told me that I could just wait in one of those chairs. Every second was getting worse and worse. I’ve always hated shots. The worst part is the anticipation in this dreaded room.

The new student, sitting at the lunch table alone, hadn't spoken in the weeks she got here . Neither had anyone spoken to her. During class, no one asked to be her partner, so she worked by herself, just packing more work onto her shoulders. When on the bus, her only friend was her backpack, which took up the space in the empty seat next to her.

As I sat in the room, the person next to me could hear my heartbeat. I felt like I was underwater I was sweating so much. I for sure smelled worse than a gym locker room. Any time I heard the click of the door, I nearly jumped. I wondered, how badly would it hurt when they got out the needle and stuck it in my arm. Would I be okay? What is this shot gaining for me?

I sat in the ocean-blue cushioned chair reading a magazine, waiting to be criticized by professionals, hoping to be accepted to work for them. I was stressed, unsure about how everything worked since this was my first time. The room felt hotter than the sun, and I awaited my name to be called. After what felt like forever, my name was called. My heart felt like it stopped as i walked through the oak door.
