If we watched this, just being able to see his face, we wouldn’t quite understand what he was doing, and we wouldn't know what kept distracting him. Because even if you can’t see his screen, you are able to tell that he is not paying attention. We more or less get to see what is going through his “head”, if you can say that.

    He's definitely hurt, it shows, when he logs into Amy’s account and finds out about Amy chatting very sweetly, with another guy. 
    He is also selfish. When logging into Amy’s account, that's purely an action benefitting only him, even though he knows it's not right.
    He seems like a guy who doesn't have a lot of friends.
    In the whole short film, he only chatted with one friend, the so-called Kanye East.

    she worries that she'll be remember for the long distance girlfriend that holded him back in having a good time, even though she doesn't mention anything about breaking up, Noah still goes forward to hack into amys facebook account and read her messages. 
     
    In the end he ends up breaking up with her, all of it over his massive amount of overthinking.
