         <description><![CDATA[<div>Energy is simply if something can do work. Work is not always doing a job like most adults. Work can also mean being in movement. There are two stages of energy, potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy is when something has the ability to move, and can possibly be in motion, however has not gotten into the motion of moving or has not yet produced energy. An example of this is someone holding a yo-yo, however not yet letting it go. Someone holding a yo-yo has a lot of potential for movement, however is still not in motion. Kinetic energy is when the object is already in motion and is producing energy. An example of this is someone riding a bike, they are already moving and energy is being used. There are many different types of energies. Some basic examples are radiant energy, mechanical energy, chemical energy, electrical energy, sound energy, and thermal energy. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Energy Transformation</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Unlike an energy transfer, during an energy transformation, the type of energy changes. One example of this is lamp. Lets say the house it is in has solar panels. The energy would originally start as radiant (light) energy from the sun, and then transform to electrical energy. The electrical energy would stay in the outlets until the lamp is plugged in. When the lamp is plugged in the energy then transfers into the lamp and changes to thermal (temperature) energy, shortly after the lamp has turned on and the energy is changed into radiant (light) energy. There are multiple energy transformations in things we do daily and is usually not noticeable at all. Despite the energy changing, no energy can be created or destroyed during the process.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sound energy is energy that is moving in sound waves. These sound waves of created by vibration. One example of sound energy would be a basketball bouncing. When you bounce the ball, the ball vibrates because it hits the ground then the sound waves are being created because of the vibration. Then you can hear the sound of the bouncing ball.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Law of Conservation of Energy</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This law simply states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can change forms. This is found in energy transfers and energy transformations all the time. Even if not all energy is used in a process, it did not disappear, it is still out in the world somewhere and may be used for something else. This type of energy is called waste energy. An example of waste energy is when you are riding a bike. Though most chemical energy converts into mechanical energy, a bit of thermal energy turns to "waste" energy since it is not utilized in the process of riding the bike, however, that energy did not disappear and still exists.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical energy is stored between the bonds of atoms. The bonds between the atoms store fuel. This fuel is used for many things, including one of the key things for our survival, food. Food in fact carries chemical energy and is consumed by humans daily. When the food is digested, the bonds break and chemical energy is released which is what powers humans up. Any chemical change that occurs includes chemical energy, whether it is baking a cake, a log burning, or a match being lit, chemical energy is there.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thermal energy is associated with temperature. Whether the temperature is hot or cold is determined by how fast or slow the atoms/molecules are moving or vibrating. The faster the atoms/molecules are moving, the hotter the temperature and the slower the atoms/molecules are moving, the colder the temperature. The faster the atoms/molecules are moving, more thermal energy is given off. The amount of thermal energy depends on how much matter there is and what the temperature is. An example of thermal energy is a campfire. There is a lot of thermal energy given off by the fire considering how fast the atoms/molecules are moving and how hot it is.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Energy has the ability to change. If you have solar panels at your own home you might know how you get electricity. How you ask? Well you get it from the sun! When the sun is shining bright on a summer day the solar panels absorb this energy then it changes into electrical energy so that you can charge you phone to text you best friend. When you plug your phone in you are giving your phone electrical energy then when you turn your phone on, your phone is giving off radiant (light) energy. This is an example of Light energy going into electrical energy, then to Radiant (light) energy.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Can energy be created or destroyed?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The simple answer to that is, no. Energy is unable to be created or destroyed, however can change forms. This fact is called the law of conservation of energy and cannot be broken. Even while energy changes forms and goes through a system, all energy is accounted for in the end. For example, if someone were to ride a bike, there would be more to it than previously thought. However that considered, all energy would still be accounted for. The energy would first start off as radiant energy from the sun, and would help plants grow. After the plants grow, the person would consume it creating chemical energy. After that, the energy would then transform into mechanical energy as the person would ride the bike, and as the person rides the bike, the person would also give off a bit of thermal energy as well. Though the energy transformed multiple times, it simply either went somewhere else or was used for something, however it will never truly disappear.</div>]]></description>

Then the solar panels are taking in that light energy and turning it into mechanical energy. Then the mechanical energy is going into the light bulb and making thermal energy. Then the thermal energy is mostly being converted to light energy but some thermal energy goes to waste.</div>]]></description>

Think of a campfire, though the first energy to come to mind is probably thermal, considering how hot it is, it also gives off quite a bit of light, doesnt it? That light is actually radiant energy being given off. Therefore, two energies are being produced at the same time, so it is possible.</div>]]></description>
