She then invited the kids to her home to have so bread and water and she played with them and she also sang rhymes with them. Before she started her organization she had seen children scavenging for food after she had moved to Khayelitsha. She ended up inviting some to her house in 1989 for food an water and that was the “birth” of her daycare center. She had been running her daycare center for a decade and so she decided that she wanted to retire in 2000. Her plans soon changed when she found a child on her doorstep in need of help. This means that there is very little to go around the town filled with about one million people. Her organization is a home for 126 children. She and her team school them,clothe them, and feed them. They also provide counseling for the children because of the things that they have been through.
