In student council you do fundraisers for the school, you plan spirit weeks/days, and you help the school and the community. Student council requires a lot of commitment and work.

Orchestra is for 1st grade to 5th. At the beginning of the year you get to choose if you want to do orchestra. The instruments are violin, viola, cello, and bass. When you enter 4th or 5th grade you get the option to play band. If you choose to play band you can start in the summer and do band camp or you can wait until the beginning of the year. To pick an instrument you go in and you get to try two instruments then you can pick the instrument you are best at or your favorite.There are many instruments, there are trombone, French horn, alto saxophone, trumpet, baritone, tuba, flute, clarinet, and percussion, where you play multiple instruments. You go to early morning band twice a week. You can buy the pictures or send back the pictures. The is a sheet to pick the background and your pose. You take the pictures during the day at a specific time that your teacher picks. Each concert has their own certain theme.
The current music teacher will teach the children the songs and they will have to memorize the words to the songs. Sometimes there are movements to the songs. There are certain kids who get speaking parts and talk about the songs in front of the audience. These are typically at 7 at night and there is a dress rehearsal the day of.

Parents can volunteer and there will be a random drawing for who gets to chaperone. There are usually groups and each chaperone gets a group. Most of the time you have to send in money for your child to go on the field trip. There is a deadline to send in money most of the time. If you fail to send in money your child will stay behind. At kids night out there are board games, games in the gym, like kick ball, volleyball etc, and the main part, the movie. About a week or two before it a paper is sent out to the children. On this paper there is the date and which movie is playing. Also on the sheet there is a place for signing up. When you get money and bring it to school you can buy the books on your wish list or other books that are not on your wish list. Anyone can participate including, parents, all boys and girls, siblings, any family, friends, and others. St. Baldricks is when you shave your head and raise money to help kids with cancer. In it, you will learn how to feel confident and get along with others. You get a chance to travel out of your comfort zone both mentally and physically. You will learn to push the limits at the end where you will be given the chance to do a 5k at the end of the experience.
