I gave you he candlesticks also, which are silver like the rest, and would bring two hundred francs”……”That it had been given him by a good old priest with whom he had passed the night….it's all a mistake”....”He went to the mantelpiece,took two candlesticks and brought them to Jean Valjean.” Pgs. 32/33<br><br></div><div>Another important theme is generosity since The bishop knowing that Jean Valjean had robbed the candlesticks and the silver, he lied to the police that he had given them as a present. He was very generous since he gave lots of silver to a man he barely knew. This theme is very important in the first chapters of the book.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

He had but just died…..”Marius looked upon the his man,whom he saw for the first time and for the last–this venerable and manly face…..he thought that this man was his father and that this man was dead, and he remained unmoved. At the same time he felt something like remorse,and he despised himself for acting thus.”<br><br></div><div>He was regretting that he never met his father and that he got late to the hospital. He felt he did not love him even though he was his father. Marius saw the face of his father dead and never met him alive.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

He thought they looked at him on account of his clothes, and that they were laughing at him; the truth is that they looked at him because of his graceful appearance, and that they dreamed over it.”<br><br></div><div>He was very ignorant when it comes to women as you can see in this passage. He thought they were talking or laughing about him even though he was looking good. He knows little about women and he is even in love of Cossette.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

(Pages 397-398)<br><br></div><div>As you can see in this passage you can see the last love presented by Jean Valjean to cosette and asks Marius his pardon since he confesses he did not love him until he was showing his love to his daughter.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

His clothes were all ruined and old and he was tired of walking for so long.All of his clothes were with holes and full of paint.</div>]]></description>

He was very sad since he was going to be alone and the only thing he loved was going to be separated from him. He didn't wanna talk with anybody and just stayed alone thinking of life.<br><br></div>]]></description>
