Lesson 3: Coping Skills, Ms. Huang, 6th Period by Miss Emily from Project Resilience

If you feel comfortable, share a photo of your "Feelings Toolkit" or "Feelings Care Package", and share what you want about it! Remember it is optional to share here, and you can share *any* aspect from it (i.e. If you don't feel comfortable sharing certain parts, you can only show what you feel comfortable, or write about it instead of sharing a photo, etc.). Any ways you feel comfortable sharing what coping skills you use may inspire others!

My Feelings Care Package/Tool Kit

Calm Within: I included my Mindfulness bell! of course ; )Get it Out: tissues! because my "go to" is crying! And I included a song lyric my friend used to tell me--a friend I would always go to vent my feelings to, and she would sing it to me! It's called: "It's alright to cry"Set it Aside: I included Nature objects (i.e. leafs and flowers) because I love taking walks and hikes out in Nature to give myself a break.Positive Spin: I put a ceramic heart that I made with my co-workers. To me it represents how I turned my own challenge of having Anxiety and Depression as a teenager into being a counselor to help other young people! I also included an essential oil called "Joy" and my Gratitude Journal to remind me that I can practice Gratitude, even and especially during challenging days and when I'm having difficult emotions, to help me cope and remember what is still Good and Working in my life, even with the challenges. What is still Strong instead of or in addition to what is Wrong. Yes, And "What else is true?" "What's not wrong right now?". These are questions that help me shift into positive spin too! I also included (not pictured yet ; )) a Self-Love book called "Madly in Love with Me" that one of my mentors, Christine Arylo wrote! It helps me to remember my practice of self-compassion and to be kind and a friend towards myself! This is also Positive Spin! : )

Contact List: I included the list of 3 adults in my life that I can go to when I need help taking care of my feelings. I also wrote how I can reach them, and I included their numbers/emails on the back too, so I don't even have to think about it! It's there! I can "go to" my box and contact them right away! : )
