highlighted the importance of equal access to period products. Additionally, I support the need for toxin-free tampons, pads, liners, etc. My artwork supports Women’s Voices of the Earth and their

extensive research surrounding this issue. WVE is an organization that advocates for gender justice, and the elimination of harmful chemicals in our everyday usage, period care included. Not only do their

efforts promote the end of period-stigma, they simultaneously vouch for the consideration of marginalized, often overlooked communities.

Their deputy director, Jamie McConnell states, “Recent testing has detected PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances used to make fluoropolymer coatings and products that resist heat, oil, stains,

grease, and water.) in menstrual products like tampons, pads, and menstrual underwear. PFAS are considered “forever chemicals,” meaning they do not break down easily in the environment and are

highly toxic. PFAS are a class of chemicals that includes 5,000 chemicals, so if PFAS are detected in a product, it’s one (or multiple) of those 5,000 chemicals. PFAS have been linked to a host of adverse health impacts, including cancer, infertility, birth defects, disruption of thyroid hormones, weakened immune

system, high cholesterol, pre-eclampsia, and high blood pressure during pregnancy. Exposure at even low levels has been shown to harm human health (the dose DOES NOT make the poison).”

In doing some research, a few examples

of safe alternatives to everyday period products include organic cotton pads or tampons (i.e. natracare), certain brands of period underwear (i.e. Knix, carbon cotton ingredients), reusable silicone cups (i.e. Diva cups), and flex discs (medical grade polymer).

While there are a number of options out there –which keep evolving– our standard for period care needs to change from the ground up. We deserve to know what’s in every product, and our options should not have to be limited to those mentioned above.

Despite our country’s enormous progress in reducing smoking, tobacco still kills 480,000 people annually. For my poster, I have created an illustration of cigarette boxes fading to graves. For my organization, I am working with Campaign for Tobacco Free kids, the leading advocacy organization working to reduce tobacco use and its deadly consequences.

Through strategic communications and policy advocacy campaigns, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids promotes

the adoption of proven solutions that are most effective at reducing tobacco use and save the most lives. Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids also specifically focuses on preventing children from smoking in the future to help us end the cycle once and for all. My name is Tennille Williams and for my posters, I chose to make it about

eating disorders because I have struggled with ARFID (Avoidant/

Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) my entire life and I wanted to showcase

that with the poster I made.

I wanted to represent the overwhelming thoughts and pressure someone can

feel when being presented with food, to make it seem like it was consuming

them instead. Hence why I made the plate of food larger than the person and

the thoughts overlapping each other.

As for the organization I chose the National Alliance for Eating Disorders, I chose

them because you’re able to learn about all kinds of eating disorders, about the

organization itself, and even helpful resources and support groups that my own

therapist even recommended for me.

My hope is that this poster can be a way to communicate to and help other

people struggling with eating disorders understanding that you’re going to be

okay and that you’re not alone in this.

I made this poster promoting Nostos Homes, a nonprofit that builds emergency shelters for people who have been displaced because of climate change.

Across the globe, millions of people are being forced out of their homes due to the impacts of climate change. Whether it's rising sea levels wiping out coastal communities, extreme weather events destroying homes and livelihoods, or prolonged droughts making fertile lands uninhabitable, the effects of climate change are forcing people to flee in search of safety and security.

Unfortunately, the people who have contributed least to climate change are often the ones who suffer the most. Vulnerable communities, including those living in poverty, indigenous peoples, and marginalized groups, take the worst of climate-induced displacement. They either have to leave behind everything they know and love or stay behind and face increasingly unlivable conditions.

It is time for us to take action to address the root causes of climate displacement. This means reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and investing in climate-resilient infrastructure. We must also prioritize the needs of affected communities, ensuring that they have access to resources and support.

In the face of the climate crisis, we have a choice: we can either continue down the path of inaction and indifference, or we can come together as a global community to build a more sustainable future for everyone. We need to act now before it's too late.

I made this poster because this cause is extremely personal to me as I recently have had family members pass due to overdosing and complications with addiction.

My goal is to help educate people on how to help your loved ones who may be silently struggling with addiction. One way to help is by breaking the stigma. People with addiction are treated as criminals, when in reality they should be treated with love and respect because addiction is an illness.

That is why I picked Shatterproof. This organization creates change and works on transforming the lives of people in need, starting from inside the home. According to the founder, Gary Mendell, we don’t wait for change, we create it. Together, we can all help
because change starts with us.
