Name: Youssef Moustafa
Class: 7-D
To: Ms. Yasmine Mansour
Both of the Pesticides, Fertilizers and Greenhouse are useful ways to increase any crop yield but each of the three ways have it's own negative points and positive points. In my own opinion Fertilizers are the best way to increase any crop yield because after i saw the pros and cons of each way i found out that Fertilizers have the least negative points In general, chemical fertilizers contain the primary plant nutrients of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous, in specific ratios that are tailored for the specific growth requirements of specific crops, such as corn or tomatoes Fertilizers are used by putting it in the place the plant will grow in it so it provides for the plant enough materials to grow so that's why i choose Fertilizers to be the best ways to increase the crop yield but there are also other reasons why i didn't choose pesticides or greenhouse.
The main reason i didn't choose the green house is because it needs large amount of money so this choice not everyone could apply it only enterpeunuers or business men could afford to make it but if someone bought it and applied it will make the plant make much more crops because it will be making photosynthesis because light energy will be one the plant in the night so it will be able to make photosynthesis on night also. In my opinion the pesticides is the worst way to increase any crop yield because pesticides have dangerous ingredients inside so if the farmer sprayed it on the plant without using a safety mask it will affect his health in a really negative way and if too much amount of pesticides was inhaled it may lead to serious health issues or sometimes death pesticides is a spray that is sprayed on the plant to kill pests that eat the . that was my reason why i didn't choose greenhouse or pesticides. also that was my reason i choose fertilizers to be the best way for increasing the crop yield.

Non of article is copy and pasted information were brought from this site (https://www.hunker.com/13404813/the-advantages-disadvantages-of-chemical-fertilizers )

Abdalla Mohamed Kashef
7c
Green House
Greenhouse is one of the best ways in my opinion because pesticides can kill some plants and fertilizers can sometimes change the plant fruit or vegetables to bigger or to smaller size because these fertilizers are not natural and they cause some changes in plants cells such as if you take a cucumber from the market and a one from 50 or 60 years a that go because you will find the one which is bought new will be bigger so in my opinion greenhouse is the best but in fact some entrepreneurs think that it is a wastage of money and pesticides and fertilizers are way much cheaper and they think that greenhouse is a big wastage of money but it actually it is better than other ways in my backyard i did an experiment i got 3 plants from these same type and I put them in the same spot one in a little greenhouse one in added on it pesticides and I added fertlizerzers in the third pot and left them for a few days and I found the best growing plant was in the greenhouse .
The greenhouse is a way which all the requirements of photosynthesis are all met and it is also healthier for the plant and it costs more but better than fertilizers and pesticides and it is more healthier
That is it
Hope u Like it

Ahmed Mohamed Sakr 7C
Green House
Could greenhouse agriculture have a promising role to play in world food production? By 2050, the world's population will reach nearly 9 billion people, nearly 25 per cent of what it is today. Almost all population growth is expected to occur in developing countries. Moreover, urbanization is expected to increase by an astonishing 70 per cent. Plants, which grow like food such as tomatoes and lettuce, depend on water, microbes, food, air and light for nutrition and growth. Although the sun is the ideal source of light, this nature, after all, can hinder the plant growth cycle. As people, we can protect our skin from excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun by putting the sun visor or going inside. The station can not do that. UVB is more harmful to our skin than UVA, and the same applies to plants. Excessive UV exposure can stop growth. This leads to lower crop yields and makes seedlings more susceptible to diseases and insects. The promotion of greenhouses with high quality plastic sheeting is a practical and cost-effective approach for farmers and farmers. Greenhouse gases can help farmers increase their production by filtering out some light plants that receive or all light for short periods of time.

GreenHouse is best when the conditions of photosynthesis are more easily controlled than in the open air outside.
Why is the greenhouse is safer for plant?
Well, because when insects and birds eat them, some of them gets bad and rotten and when they eat it they eat a part and leave the rest of it.
Advantages of GreenHouse: 1.It Good distribution of light in the GreenHouse.
2. It has the ability to change the direction of Sun rays.
3.Protection against diseases, pests and other vermin. Another advantage of a greenhouse is that it is very difficult to enter as it is a closed space.

Disadvantages of GreenHouse:
1.Some greenhouse plants, such as tomatoes, need to be pollinated before they can set fruit.
2.Greenhouse fans, which circulate air and keep foliage dry, don't generally create enough wind for pollination.
3. Bumbelbees are the insect that is used to pollinate in the greenhouse.

FINAL DRAFT
Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed
7-D
increasing a crop yield has many ways, actually its three Fertilizers ,Pesticides, and Greenhouse all are good, useful, and they all increase crop yield but i think that Greenhouses are the best and the safest way to increase crop yield
because it increases photosynthesis or allows it to continue beyond day light. what about the advantages and the disadvantages of the Greenhouse . the advantages are, that the Greenhouse traps heat and uses photosynthesis but of course it has disadvantages like global warming and extinction. Aren't there any differences between the Green house and other things that increase crop yield. there are two main things that increase crop yield like the Greenhouse ,they are fertilizers and pesticides. Fertilizers are minerals that provide the plant with the important chemicals needed for growth like nitrogen, potassium, and phosphors and there are advantages and disadvantages for fertilizers like rapid action and constituent ratios defined and the disadvantages are, fertilizers are non renewable sources they also provide nutrients to plant but they don't sustain soil unlike pesticides that have a fast acting act for pests that harm the crops and its also expensive so not all farmers use pesticides.they also have advantages and disadvantages the advantages are, that pesticides protect the plant and also controls pests but what about the disadvantages of pesticides it promotes genetic resistance and it has hazardous poison that can harm the skin so in my opinion the one that can stay in the balloon of increasing crop yield is the Greenhouse because its the safest thing to use cause it increases not only crop yield but increases the time of photosynthesis that's why its the one that can stay in the balloon of the crop yield increasing process

https://Quara.com
http://frndzzz.com
https://www.plantscience4u.com/2014/11/advantages-and-disadvantages-of.html#.W9sBwZMzbIV

Hot Air Balloon

Nowadays countries who would want to be strong and wealthy would work on the two supporting factors; Industry and Agriculture. Today I will discuss agriculture. To try and make it easier, let’s imagine we are in a hot air balloon which represents our country, and we have 3 means of increasing the crop yield to improve agriculture so the balloon would rise higher in the sky. We have to get rid of two of them and keep only one among fertilizers, Pesticide, or greenhouse effect.

To start with, Fertilizers, these are different minerals dissolved in water to be absorbed by the plant roots. As we all know, plants need nutrients and minerals to grow and flourish, this would be supplied by these fertilizers through the plant roots in the soil. On the dark side of fertilizers, you may find that it might not be complete or balanced to supply the plant with the right amount, and it could also be expensive. On the other hand, it is easy to handle and available for buying.

Second on the balloon is the pesticide, these are chemicals used to kill any kind of insects that feed on plants, which could cause damage to the plants. The drawback of using these pesticides are that they could be harmful for the human beings who would eat these crops with pesticides sprayed on them. Also, they might harm the people spraying them in the field. However, it could control the invasion of the insects to the field. So, they need to be used wisely and in a controlled amount.

Thirdly, Green house; that is a condition that we put the plant into in order to supply it with the perfect conditions for the photosynthesis to be carried out well. These conditions would include CO2 and water and the right temperature and light. The crop yield would increase and would be in a good condition even at night.

Although greenhouse effect might cause more energy to be trapped in the earth’s atmosphere and that would add to the global warming problem, yet I would keep this effect or this approach to increase the crop yield and choose to keep this on the balloon as we would be growing more crops in an artificial manner and would be able to grow and produce day and night. Greenhouse effect is useful, but too much of it would be harmful.

Fertilizers make crops grow faster and bigger so that crop yields are increased. They're minerals, which must first dissolve in water so that plants can absorb them through their roots. Fertilizers provide plants with the essential chemical elements needed for growth particularly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. And also Fertilizers may contain nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compounds to promote plant growth.

There are many ways to increase the crop yield . Many farmers and people use these methods to let their crop yield grow fast and increase . But first what is the crop yield? Crop yield is measurment of the amount of argiaturcal production harvested per unit of land area . Crop yield is often used for cereal , grain , or legumes and is normally measured in bushels or pounds per acre in the U.S. Why increasing Crop yield is important to us ? In this planet there are a lot of mouth to feed and there is a finite amount of land to grow on . To understand food securiy we should be able to estimate crop yield . The ability to produce enough food to meet human needs in in the foreseeable future . There are three methods to let these crop yield increase and grow fast . They are fertilizers , pesticide , and greenhouse . But sometimes these methods can be harmful and have disadvantages and also it can be useful and have advantages . So , which one of these methods can be the best and the most useful . So,there should be one method that we will use and the others we leave it .We will see in the following paragraphs which one is the more useful .
The best and the most useful method is the greenhouse method . We will see why is the the greenhouse the most useful but first let us see what is greenhouse . A greenhouse more commonly called glasshouse in Europe , is an outdorr structure that is used to house plants . Often a simple frame covered by glass or plastic , greenhouses work by insulating the environment , to a point , in order to extend the growing season . Now I am going to talk about the advantages of a greenhouse . First , the greenhouse give a good distribution of inside the greenhouse . The greenhouse has the ability to change the sun ray's direction , thus evenly distributed over the entire surface and does not let the sun ray's go directly to the plant . Second , is the energy efficiency . Takes advantage at the enviromental conditions , such as optimizing the heat inside the greenhouse . Third, One of the main advantages of a greenhouse is the control of microclimate , is to control and establish the optimal environment for cultubation . You can adjust the temperature humidity , lighting , etc . Now we are going to talk about the disadvantages od fertilizers . Fertilizer application rates can vary with the type of Fertilizer that is needed to produce the desire results . For example , nitrogen , which is added to increase leaf and stem production can kill plants quickly it applied at , a higher level than recommended . Even organic fertilizers can be toxic if consumed in large amounts . Chemical fertilizer carry warning labels and many are toxic to humans. Now I am going to talk about the pesticides disadvantages and I see that it is the most dangerous one . Pesticide suppless particular species of pests may comprise insects, rodents, plants, molds , and fungi . But pesticides are toxic and can cause serious health problems . The problem that it is used i everywhere ,it is used in homes and farms to kill insects.
Now I will talk about each method effect . As we said at the first that they all increase and let the crop yield grow faster. How is each one used? The fertilizers fertilizes the soil to become fertile soil. The pesticide is a sprayer that we spray on plant or anything to kill insects. The greenhouse is a simple frame covered by glasses. How are they effective? Negative effects of chemical fertilizers. The biggest issue facing the use of chemical fertilizers is groundwater contamination . Nitrogen fertilizer break
down inti nitrates and travel easily through soil . Because it is water soluble and can remain in groundwater for decades , the addition of more nitrogen has an accumulative effect. As for the advantages , to releasing nutrients, as organic fertilizers break down, they improve the structure of the soil and increase its ability to hold water and nutrients. Over time, organic fertilizers will make your soil–and plants–healthy and strong.
Pesticides impose a serious negative impact on the environment. They may lead to the destruction of biodiversty. As for the advantages,

Pesticides help reduce waterborne and insect transmitted diseases

.The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth's atmosphere ,

Sunlight shines in and warms the plants and air inside. But the heat is trapped by the glass and can't escape. So during the daylight hours, it gets warmer and warmer inside a greenhouse, and stays pretty warm at night too.
I hope that you learned what is crop yield ,greenhouse, pesticides, and fertilizers . Now we know what is the advantages and disadvantages of these three methods and we knew that the greenhouse is the best method.
:) thank you https://www.todayshomeowner.com/debate-over-organic-chemical-fertilizers/http://croplifeindia.org/eight-benefits-of-pesticides/https://climatekids.nasa.gov/greenhouse-effect/

THERE are three ways of crop yield first type fertilizers ,pesticide, greenhouse . I think that greenhouse is the pest topic because it provide food all year.also green house is a way for farming things that is out of season like tomato and many other products also it provide to the plant sun light from evrey place becuase the green house is surrounded from evrey place with glass this make photosynthesis easier and faster than the open land farmin.greenhouse is better way its safe and not harmful like pesticide to the farmer and also the environment and also not selective to farmer also fertilizers have chemicals that can be harmful to other organisms also it can leak through the soil into water making it very armful to the enviroment also the fertilizers can stunt the groth of microorganisms that help the plant to grow also things that is around the plant may not be able to grow toxic matirials that is added to increas the amount of fertilizers this toxic things can burn the skin of the plant and change the soil quality . The Benefits of a Greenhouse:
Fresh greens, vegetable and fruit
Transplant availability and success
Fresh cut flowers all year long
A warm place to go in the middle of a cold, gray winter
Ability to grow things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to grow (exotic flowers, tropical fruit)
No more battles with squirrels and insects
Do more of what you love to do, longer Add beauty and visual appeal to a landscapeThe Disadvantages of a Greenhouse:
Can be expensive to build
Can be expensive to heat
Requires constant monitoring, maintenance and care
Could increase electrical and water bills
May detract from aesthetic appeal of a garden.
sights
www. garden weasel.com/green hous
https://prezi.com/l4dthrid6r1f/chemical-fertilizers-pros-and-cons

To increase crop yield, start from the ground up. Testing soils to determine the cause of declining crop yield is the first step toward finding the source of the issue—whether it’s disease, a lack of nutrients, or unproductive soil. Then the soil can be treated with the appropriate organic product needed to solve the problem, without the use of synthetic chemicals which can harm the environment (and provide only a temporary solution).

This approach, called biotechnology, has been shown to increase crop yields worldwide.

I think that the green house is the best and the most faster and easier. Because it makes plants make twist a year like a you have 20 plants, and ex: one plant = 12 in a year, 20 x 12=483.9, but if we put the plant in the green house, then 240 x 2 is 241.95 because it is the double because the plants has light at night so it, will make photosets by night and day, is the best in my view put it has a bit bad stuff like it takes eclectic and it will take a lot of money but at the end it will give you that money back at the end of the year. But the Fertilizers way is bad because the mineral the will at some point it will get very rare and the food will not be health and it let us pay more money for us to for us to get meds and Pesticide is the bad because it is not heath for any live thing near by and if and animal eat in it may die !! and I don’t want animals ding form plant, this way let us eat no meat . Kind of like one-stop shopping. Of course, it doesn’t work that way. Greenhouse managers have a multitude of variables to consider when choosing a fertilizer program. These variables include the crop grown, stage of development, indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, water analysis, potential for nutrient leaching, and the rate and amount of fertilizer used to grow the crop.

Failure to hone in on these variables may not lead to total crop loss (although it could), but more likely a failure to maximize growth and the aesthetic value of the plant, which leads to increased labor and energy costs and subsequent loss of profits in an industry already struggling with tight profit margins.

The following article is intended to help you understand the role of major and minor nutrients on good crop growth, discuss the interplay of the variables mentioned above, and introduce some new, and perhaps new to you, plant food products on the market, including organics.

Marwan Ahmed Refai
Class:7C
Pesticides, Fertilizers and Greenhouse are useful ways to increase any crop yield but each of them have it's own negative points and positive points. In my own opinion Fertilizers are the best way to increase crop yield Fertilizers grow faster and bigger so that crop yields are increased. They are water-soluble .. Fertilizers make crops grow faster and provide plants with the essential chemical elements needed for growth particularly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Now I Will Say The Method Fertilizers provide nutrients to plants that allow them grow faster and stronger resulting into higher yields. Fertilizers have a great impact in conventional agriculture and often they are ratified for high crop yields. But Greenhouse is not the best. Economics of greenhouse. Farmers can use their knowledge of factors limiting the rate of photosynthesis to increase crop yields. Now I Will Say The Disadvantages. Disadvantages of the Greenhouse Affect. The occurs when energy from the sun is trapped in the Earth's atmosphere rather than being absorbed by the Earth or deflected back into space. This trapped energy heats up the planet and can cause numerous problems. The use of artificial light allows photosynthesis to continue beyond daylight hours. Bright lights also provide a higher-than-normal light intensity. But Now I Will Say The Negative Effects In Pesticides. However, insecticide sprays do have some negative effects: they increase the risk of secondary pest outbreaks and can cause pesticide resistance. Spraying also takes time and money. So If There Is Balloon And I Must Throw Something I Will Throw Pesticide And Greenhouse And Fertilizer Stays So If There Is A Balloon That I Must Throw 2 Things I Will Throw Pesticide And Greenhouse And Fertilizer Stay I will Give U A reason As I said Fertilizers grow faster and bigger so that crop yields are increased.

We all know that there are three ways of growing plants in a faster way or protecting the plants and the three of them are, fertilizers, pesticides, and a greenhouse. For me a Greenhouse is a better way to grow plants. That's because if you are growing in a regular place it gets subjected by 24h extreme cold and heat but, if in a greenhouse there is a stable temp plus that you don't need pesticide because no insects enter plus it is Eco-friendly. Also If it is winter you can grow summer plants. So why is pesticides harmful? It is Fast acting but they are harmful to the environment were it can harm the plants and also the farmers. Fertilizers are bad because they are made of , nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus N/K/P. So how does a greenhouse help the environment? Gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide do what the roof of a greenhouse does. During the day, the Sun shines through the atmosphere. Earth's surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, Earth's surface cools, releasing the heat back into the air. So, that's why a greenhouse is an easier way to make plants grow faster and it is Eco-friendly.👍😂😢👌😒✔👀🤢

FINAL DRAFT
There are 3 ways to increase farming the first is fertilizers second pesticide third and last greenhouse the one I chose. I am going to say the pros and cons of each one of the types.

Let's start with fertilizers one advantage of it is soil structure it is an advantage because of the organic matter present in organic fertilizer, soil structure is improved and as a result the soil’s ability to hold onto water and nutrients increases. One disadvantage is not all products are created equally so many organic products produce inconsistent results. Make sure you are selecting a product that is industry vetted by reviewing any university studies or case studies.

The second way is pesticide. Here is one advantage cost effectiveness pesticides are inexpensive to buy and producing good results without costing a lot of money. One disadvantage is reduction of beneficial species the chemicals used in pesticides are slightly harmful and kills beneficial species of interest and reduces their population.

The third and last way is greenhouse. Here is advantage of greenhouse One of the main advantages to growing in a greenhouse is that it offers you a longer growing season.
Temperatures don’t vary as much within a greenhouse, since the sun’s radiation is trapped in the enclosure, retaining the heat within the structure.Growing seasons can be extended, even in cold climates.
There are some disadvantages of the greenhouse effect, but mostly at the wallet's expense. Greenhouse farming can get expensive. Depending on the material you intend to use, they can be costly in construction. If you choose a more useful greenhouse that is bulky and opaque over a well-designed greenhouse, they can take away from the aesthetic appeal of the overall garden. The water and electric bills will more than likely rise to heat and cool the inhabitants of the greenhouse. They also require constant care with maintaining the temperature, the residents and the structure itself.

I choose green house.

There are three ways to increase crop yield, fertilizer, pesticide and greenhouses. however i think that the green house is the best way.

PESTICIDES:

Pesticides are not bad really, if there's a pest in your garden you know who to call... Pesticide!!! all you need to do is spray your garden and all the pests will know who's boss! actually... they won't... they'll be dead.... but any way some of the good things pesticides are as follows, one great thing is that pesticides have saved millions of lives from malaria, yellow fever, sleeping sickness, black plague, and typhoid.
also without pesticides 8 percent of all crops would have died. they also saved millions of acres from the spruce bud-worm & the gypsy moth.
however nothing is all sunshine and rainbows as for every year more and more species are developing resistance. which makes them stronger and hungrier >:D. they are also non specific sometimes, meaning that they hurt everything, even humans and the even the plant itself! and it also harms the environment O.O .

FERTILIZERS:

once again there is a good side and a bad side to using fertilizers as well, for example they generally contain all the chemicals in the soil that a plant needs, like nitrogen potassium and phosphorus, but they kind of burn people, which hurts, alot, X_X. they also pollute every thing -_- which sucks.

GREENHOUSE:

last but not least, greenhouses! what a greenhouse does is that it simulates a specific environment so that the desired plant may grow. i'd say the main disadvantage of having a green house is the cost $_$ it is expensive to build and heat and increases water and electricity tax income but if you have the money you will find that it allows you to plant things that you could never plant before as it acts as a simulated environment, it also looks very nice from the inside. and it gives you fresh (insert your favorite fruit or veggie here) at any time! want to eat fresh mangoes🥔 during winter? no problem! want eat strawberries🍓 in summer? no problem! want to eat a pumpkin🍘 in spring? NO PROBLEM! want to eat cherries🍒 or something during autumn? NO PROBLEM and it also uses no chemicals so that's nice 😊.

thats the end of my essay, please gimme full mark. leave a comment maybe?

there are three types of farminOne of the reasons why our planet is able to sustain life is because of the presence of greenhouse gases and their effect on earth’s atmosphere and human beings. They can be summarized as follows:

The greenhouse effect maintains a manageable temperature on the earth’s surface and makes it habitable for humans, plants and animals.

The greenhouse gases act as a filter. Unwanted solar energy is sent back to space. Ozone absorbs the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Carbon dioxide and other gases absorb the longer wavelength radiation. Without these greenhouse gases acting as filter, all harmful rays would have been radiated back to the earth’s surface.

g
Green house,Pesticides,Fertilizer
So lets start with Green house
Green house is the best because it makes the crop
1- off-seoson cropGreenhouse effect can also maintain the water level of the earth’s surface. It prevents the melting of ice and restricts the polar caps to the polar regions only.

While greenhouse gases like ozone and carbon have definite advantages, the potential disadvantages far exceed the former. For ages, there was a delicate balance between how much energy is absorbed by greenhouse gases and redirected to the earth and how much was radiated back to the space. With the increased burning of fossil fuels, the percentage of greenhouse gases has increased. This means that more solar energy is directed into earth than what is being radiated into space. This heats up the earth’s surface leading to what is known as global warming
Disadvantadge
Greenhouse farming can get expensive. Depending on the material you intend to use, they can be costly in construction. If you choose a more useful greenhouse that is bulky and opaque over a well-designed greenhouse, they can take away from the aesthetic appeal of the overall garden.

There 3 types of increasing the crop yield Fertlizers Pesticide and the green house. I chose the green house.Advantages of the green house. The obvious reason to grow greenhouse vegetables and flowers is to have crops at a time of year when they can’t be grown outdoors. Out-of-season tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, basil, and other vegetables command high prices in some markets. It’s important to note, though, that the cost of winter production of warm-weather crops like tomatoes is very high, so don’t jump into it unless you are certain you have a market and a price that will provide a return on your investment. Heating will be your biggest cost, followed by labor. And if you happen to have a long spell of overcast weather, you may also need to provide supplemental lighting.

If you have never attempted to grow greenhouse vegetables in winter, you should do a great deal of preliminary research to determine whether it can be profitable for you, given your climate, greenhouse structure, and fuel costs. Fortunately, there are many free resources to help you calculate costs and potential returns; do an internet search for “greenhouse tomatoes enterprise budget” and you’ll find plenty of reading material to help with your research. An invaluable tool for predicting heating costs is Virtual Grower software, which is free from USDA. It prompts the user to enter information such as nearest weather station (from which it calculates average weather conditions), type of greenhouse structure, condition of the structure, type of heating system, and price of fuel. You can download the software here. http://www.ars.usda.gov/services/software/download.htm?softwareid=309

As a broad rule of thumb, a beginning grower in the northern half of the country should not plant into a greenhouse until Feb. 15 because the low light conditions earlier than that make the crop a riskier venture. Experienced growers and southern growers often produce all winter.

By mid-February, many crops can be grown with only minimal heat, and still provide a month or more of earliness compared to field crops. If you have a market where you can sell vegetables in spring, greenhouse production can be profitable, especially combined with early field crops. For example, you may have field-grown spinach in April but that’s hardly enough to fill a market stand. But if you can also bring head lettuce from the heated greenhouse and arugula, radishes, and carrots from the unheated hoophouse, you’re ready to put on a good display. Or think about the possibilities for Mother’s Day: greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, cut flowers, and hanging baskets of flowers and fruiting strawberries, in addition to a full range of spring vegetables.

Season extension is just one of the advantages gained from greenhouse growing. Protected crops are less apt to be damaged by wind, rain, and hail so the percentage of marketable products is higher. Yield is often higher as well, if you can provide optimum growing conditions for each crop. Greenhouses protect crops from many diseases, particularly those that are soilborne and splash onto plants in the rain. And greenhouse crops may be protected from common field pests. Of course, greenhouse crops have their own particular problems such as foliar disease, aphids, and whiteflies, so vigilance is still required.
Now with the disadvantages.
Greenhouse production is often perceived as an artificial process, characterized by low nutritional quality of the final product and the heavy use of chemical inputs. Moreover, large areas covered with greenhouses create a big visual impact, a factor which is especially important in the highly touristic Mediterranean Coastal. In contrast, open-field cultivation is generally perceived as an ‘eco-friendly’ activity, and one that has a much smaller visual impact. Setting aside these ‘apparent’ perceptions of the two cultivation systems, it is necessary to make an objective assessment and to quantify their respective impacts on the environment. Life cycle assessment (LCA) tool was used to compare the environmental burdens associated with greenhouse as opposed to open-field production processes for a spring season tomato crop grown in the Maresme region near Barcelona. Greenhouse structure, irrigation equipment, fertilizers, pesticides, cultural tasks and irrigation were all analyzed as subsystems. All inputs for each subsystem were traced back to primary resources. For each subsystem, emissions were quantified and aggregated into impact categories defined by CML 2001, using tomato yield (kg) as the functional unit. Preliminary results revealed that environmental burden per kg of tomato grown in open-field production was greater than that for tomatoes produced in greenhouses with respect to factors such as the use of water, fertilizers and pesticides. Notwithstanding the differences in environmental burden associated with the two production systems, if one considers the higher economic returns obtained from greenhouse production, their existence could constitute a reasonable trade-off.

Pesticides are chemical compounds that are used to kill pests, including insects, rodents, fungi and unwanted plants (weeds). Pesticides are used in public health to kill vectors of disease, such as mosquitoes, and in agriculture, to kill pests that damage crops. By their nature, pesticides are potentially toxic to other organisms, including humans, and need to be used safely and disposed of properly.Fertilizer, natural or artificial substance containing the chemical elements that improve growth and productiveness of plants. Fertilizers enhance the natural fertility of the soil or replace the chemical elements taken from the soil by previous crops.links https://www.britannica.com/topic/fertilizer http://www.who.int/topics/pesticides/en/ https://www.hunker.com/12486944/advantages-disadvantages-of-greenhouse-farming
https://www.growingformarket.com/articles/The-greenhouse-advantage To Ms Yasmine

Increasing Crop Yield

I have a piece of land that I will farm. To ensure a good crop yield, I will have to use either pesticides, fertilizers, or install a greenhouse.

Pesticides act fast against a wide range of pests that harm the crops, they also get rid of weeds. They are easy to use; they are mixed in a certain ratio with water and sprayed over the lines in a short time by just a few laborers. On the other hand it is expensive to buy pesticides and equipment used to spray them. Pesticides are non-selective so they also kill other useful organisms such as bees and worms. Pesticides are chemicals that can be harmful to the environment, humans and animals, especially with long exposure. Moreover, the pests become resistant to pesticides over time. I’ll not use pesticides.

Fertilizers are essential chemical elements for the growth of plants. They provide necessary nutrients to the soil; mainly nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus which dissolve in water. The dissolved fertilizers are absorbed by the roots resulting in the crop growing strong and big. Fertilizers come in the form of powder, granules and liquid. Yet fertilizers are expensive. They pollute the soil and the environment. They also weaken the soil over time. So I will not use fertilizers.

An important advantage of greenhouses is that they don’t harm the environment. The greenhouse being closed protects the crop from pests and from bad weather. It is made of a frame structure covered with sheets of plastic called polyethylene that allow the sun energy in so photosynthesis can takes place. Artificial lighting is installed to allow photosynthesis to continue beyond daylight hours or when the sun is not out. The greenhouse can also be heated to allow planting crops off season, this means a chance to export the crop and a chance for a bigger profit. The green house is very expensive to build and maintain, but I will consider it an investment for the future. I am choosing the greenhouse.

I believe I will have to research if I need to use an organic fertilizer in the greenhouse.

I just bought a farm. I want to increase my plantings rate to maximize my profit to buy other farms and grow in business world. I have three ways to increase my business. Here are the methods I can use: using pesticides, using fertilizers and green house. In this essay we will find out which method is better to use.

I think that fertilizers are the best way to increase crop growth because it is the one that less harms the environment and living things around it. While pesticides might kill pests they also harm humans, animals, the environment and might even harm the plant itself. While the greenhouse might ruin the plant because it is always doing photosynthesis so when it leaves the greenhouse it has a big chance of rotting and becoming inedible for both animals and humans.

In conclusion using fertilizers is the optimal way to increase crop yield due to it is not harming any plant, animal, human or the environment. While other methods may harm animals, humans and even the plant itself. That is why I think that using fertilizers is the optimal method between the other methods that are using pesticides and the greenhouse.

The greenhouse is the best method. It should be at the top of the list, cause it helps plants to grow safely. The glass above the grass / plants are protecting them from rain, snow, thunder, and more. The greenhouse also helps the grass / plants get energy and sunlight for the sun safely. Pesticide is also good. It should be ranked as the second place in the list. Pesticides are chemical compounds that are used to kill pests, including insects, rodents, fungi and unwanted plants AKA weed . Pesticides are sed public health to kill vectors of disease, such as mosquitoes, and in agriculture, to kill pests that damage crops. its expensive but still makes the plant bigger and grows much faster. Fertilizers are the worst products and should be eliminated from the list. Because its completely harmful and makes the plant taste bad and make it farm or grow faster. So the people who works at a store or a pharmacy, he would put a liquid substance that make the fruit / plant glow. So Fertilizers are the worst products to farm or plant with, the Pesticide is the second best method to plant or farm with. Because it not harmful and it makes the plant grow without any Insects . The Greenhouse is the best method in the list.

How each process is made ???
when pesticides is used some substances are being spread all through the land and that substance kills insects and sometimes kill the plant
The fertlizers are substances that is burried in the soil and they might change the plants size Phosphorus stimulates root growth, helps the plant set buds and flowers, improves vitality and increases seed size. It does this by helping transfer energy from one part of the plant to another.
Green house is the way which a house made out of glass and it provides all the requirments for a plant to grow

anyways the site i used is
https://www.gardeners.com/how-to/fertilizer-ratios/5161.html
Thank You
YA I SEE U DO NOT COPY AND PASTE MA WORK HA U LISTEN I KNOW U

increasing crop yield has three things fertilizers and pesticide and greenhouse.i think fertilizers is the best way to increase crop yield. Fertilizers that supply all three elements are often called npk fertilizers, after the chemical symbols for these three elements. And there is disadvantages also for fertilizers like Chemical fertilizers are primarily made from nonrenewable sources, including fossil fuels. They grow plants but do nothing to sustain the soil. ...Because the nutrients are readily available, there is a danger of over fertilization. I did not choose greenhouse because of there disadvantages. There disadvantages are. When carbon-based emissions from sources such as motor vehicles or coal-fired electric generating plants create greenhouse gasses, these emissions can trap heat within the atmosphere. And i did not choose pesticides because of there disadvantages and they are. Pesticides are detrimental for the environment and produce considerable damage to ecosystems. Insecticides and herbicides may be harmful for non-target species. Pesticides pollute air, water and soil. That is the disadvantages of greenhouse and pesticides.

https://www.todayshomeowner.com

There are three ways to increase crop yield.Fertilizers, pesticides and green houses. In my opinion using Green houses is the best way to increase crop yield. Why you ask? Because it is the most organic way to increase crop yield. How are they used? It is just artificial sun light which can continue photosynthesis beyond day light hours. Also it stays warm inside, even during winter. Sunlight shines in and warms the plants and air inside. But the heat is trapped by the glass and can't escape. Next, we have fertilizers. Fertilizers are chemicals like pesticides but, not to kill bugs. It helps grow crops not even in it's season. For example you can't grow strawberrys in the summer they only grow in the winter but, using green houses you can grow them in the summer. Now we have pesticides. They only take out bugs and insects. There are a lot of disadvantages using this method but, I will only mention one which is, pesticides are a chemical so, it is harmful for humans. Last but not least fertilizers. They provide the plant with

the essential chemical

elements needed for the

growth

Particularly they are nitrogen

and potassium and

phosphorus N/K/P.

The fertilizers discussed here are the chemical-based fertilizers, ad not organic fertilizers such as compost. Fertilizers are essential chemical elements for the growth of plants. They provide necessary nutrients to the soil; mainly nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus which dissolve in water. Fertilizers come in the form of powder, granules and liquid. The dissolved fertilizers are added to the source of irrigation water and are absorbed by the roots. Some fertilizers are sprayed over the leaves of the plants. The result is the crop growing strong, big, and with increased harvest yield. Yet fertilizers are expensive. They pollute the soil and the environment with their toxic effect. Fertilizers can seep into the underground water making it harmful to the surrounding environment. They also weaken the soil over time. So I will not use fertilizers.

An important advantage of greenhouses is that they don’t harm the environment. The greenhouse being closed protects the crop from pests and from bad weather. It is made of a frame structure covered with sheets of plastic called polyethylene that allow the sun energy in, so photosynthesis can takes place. Artificial lighting is installed to allow photosynthesis to continue beyond daylight hours or when the sun is not out. The greenhouse can also be heated to allow planting crops off season, this means a chance to export the crop and a chance for a bigger profit. During warmer months, cooling mechanisms and fans can keep the tender leaves from browning from exposure to the harsh summer sun. You can grow high quality crops in the greenhouse. Greenhouses also allow for efficient use of irrigation water. The disadvantage of the greenhouse is the cost; it is very expensive to build and maintain a greenhouse, but I will consider it an investment for the future. I am choosing the greenhouse.

I believe I will have to research if I need to use an organic fertilizer in the greenhouse.

Sources:

1. Asif, Sayed, Advantages and Disadvantages of Commercial Greenhouse Farming In India, January 2018, Agri Health Foods, agrihealthfoods.com/greenhouse-farming-advantages-disadvantages-india/

2. Cunningham, Margret, Use of Pesticides: Benefits and Problems Associated with Pesticides, Study.com, study.com/academy/lesson/use-of-pesticides-benefits-and-problems-associated-with-pesticides.html

3. Greentumble editorial team, Pros 7 Cons of using fertilizers, Greentumble, December 2015, greentumble.com/pros-and-cons-of-using-agricultural-fertilizers/

4. Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Phys.org, October 2014,phys.org/news/2014-10-fertilize.html

They might not be so useful for the soil as it could be over fertilized which could spoil the crops. Repeated application of fertilizers could be toxic and transferred to the crops.

They also protect the plants, not only from the extreme weather conditions, but also from the troublesome pests. It provides the plant with humid warm environment keeping the heat and water inside and giving the plants a chance to grow faster and healthier with more crop yield. It is a very effective means of growing plants in the different regions with extreme weather; cold or hot.

Although greenhouse might be difficult to manage as it is difficult to properly control the temperature inside which if increased could directly kill the plants, yet farmers should get the proper training and equipment to help in its success.

Also, one of the downsides of greenhouse is when the pests survive in the humid warm environment, there should be regular inspection.

I would keep this effect or this approach to increase the crop yield and choose to keep this on the balloon as we would be growing more crops in an artificial manner and would be able to grow and produce day and night.

References:

· www.wattpad.com

· www.todayhomeowner.com

· www.who.int

Pesticides are designed to stop all of these pests, as well as herbicides and fungicides. Herbicides destroy unwanted vegetation and weeds. Fungicides stop the spread of mold and mildew.

2.kills any insect like bugs.

cons of pesticides:

1.Alas, pesticides are replete with problems. Since pesticides are designed to kill living organisms, they can harm humans, animals and the environment. They work because they are toxic. Pesticides cause a wide range of health problems, from birth defects and damage to the reproductive system to cancer, according to the Alliance for Healthy Homes.

2.sometimes pesticides can kill plants.

3.can make a disease for human beings.

pros for fertilizers:

1.In general, chemical fertilizers contain the primary plant nutrients of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous, in specific ratios that are tailored for the specific growth requirements of specific crops, such as corn or tomatoes.

2.Manufactured fertilizers contain a predictable ratio of phosphorous, potassium, and nitrogen. These nutrients are dissolved and reach a plant’s cells quickly, right where they are needed. This nutrient consistency in fertilizers allows for efficient production on a scale.

cons:

1. can harm plants.

In my opinion I will keep fertilizers. I am with fertilizers because fertilizers are considered as food for plants, as plants need fertilizers to grow. Fertilizers refill the nutrients after each harvest.

Fertilizers have some good advantages like, with the increasing populations all over the world, farmers need more food to feed this growth and fertilizers help in that. Another thing, large amount of nutrients needed for the plants can only be provided by chemical fertilizers. Also, it's fast and gives good results.

However, fertilizers also have disadvantages. These disadvantages are, it's mainly made of fossil fuels which is a non-renewable resource, if over fertilization happened it completely damage the crop and the whole soil ecosystem. When repeated it may be toxic and this appears in fruits and vegetables. When used for long time it harms the microbial ecosystem.

There are other ways like greenhouse farming, but it has disadvantages, as it's cost is pretty high, it needs expensive material for construction, it's big and huge so it covers the beauty of the garden. The cost of electricity and water bills will be very high.

The usage of pesticides in farming can be very harmful because, the soil fertility is hugely effected by the usage of pesticides, moreover, some pesticides may cause allergy to humans. The farmers who use pesticides are in risk of having cancer. They contaminate groundwater and cause great risk to humans, bees, birds, and pollination.

That is why I see the disadvantages of fertilizers compared to the other methods is more tolerable, in addition that it is really needed for feeding the increasing population. I will choose to keep fertilizers.

Resources:

https://www.plantscience4u.com/2014/11/advantages-and-disadvantages-of.html#.W92CINczbIU

https://www.slideshare.net/RutvijKhatri/advantages-disadvantages-of-fertilizers

https://www.hunker.com/12486944/advantages-disadvantages-of-greenhouse-farming

http://www.chefsbest.com/advantages-disadvantages-pesticides/

I will choose the fertilizers to increase the crop yield because it’s not harmful to any environment and human life. In the fertilizers process minerals dissolved in water can be absorbed through the plant roots and vit provide the plant with essentials chemical elements needed for the growth. the opposite of pesticide it’s not safe this process will allow the farmer to raise his income by bringing more food to non-farming markets. Many sources of fertilizer exist both natural and industrially produced, fertilizer contains 10% nitigen,10%phosphate and 10%potash. The use of fertilizers is probably almost as old as agriculture and it considered as a natural material or synthetic origin and it supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants.

There is advantages and disadvantages for fertilizers process, advantages: since nutrients are available to the plants improvement occurs in days, its not expensive, they are highly analyzed to produce the exact ratio of nutrients desired, standardized labeling makes ratios and chemical sources easy to understand.

Disadvantages: they grow plants but do nothing to sustain the soil , in fact chemical fertilizers don’t replace many trace elements that are depleted by repeated crop plantings, long term use of chemical fertilizer can change the soil pH upset beneficial microbial ecosystems increase pests and even contribute to the release of greenhouse gases.

Humans and other animals convert food energy into ATP through cellular respiration. plants and some unicellular organisms obtain energy from light through photosynthesis process , photosynthesis is a serious of chemical reactions that convert light energy, water, and co2 into the food energy molecule glucose and give off oxygen which is important to humans.

Greenhouse environments provide a variety of benefits for plant production; many greenhouses favor pest development as well. The warm, humid conditions and abundant food are ideal for pest build up. Natural enemies that serve to keep some pests under control in the field are absent in the greenhouse. For these reasons, pest problems often develop more rapidly and are more severe in enclosed systems. Pesticides are important tools in managing greenhouse pests. applications in enclosed spaces increase the risk of worker exposure. In some areas, danger of pesticide exposure by inhalation is greatly increased. Phytotoxicity, injury to plants by the pesticide, is also a greater concern in an enclosed environment. Plants growing rapidly in the greenhouse are more green, and thus more susceptible to pesticide phytotoxicity. Before using a new pesticide on a new plant you have to test it on a few plants to determine if phytotoxicity will be a problem, some pesticides are labeled such that the grower-user accepts all risks from phytotoxicity to greenhouse crops, because the risk is high.

*What is crop yieldIn agriculture, crop yield refers to both the measure of the yield of a crop per unite area of land cultivation. So which of these is the best way to increase the crop yieldFertilizers	pesticide	greenhouse	I personally think fertilizers are the best because they have more advantages then disadvantages unlike the other onesIf you're environmentally conscious, you probably prefer natural, organic products. But plants cannot tell the difference. Nutrients are nutrients. Organic and chemical fertilizers differ in terms of nutrient availability and lasting effects on plants, soil and the environment. Properly applied, both organic and chemical fertilizers are safe for people, pets, plants and the planet. Test your soil to determine its nutrient needs before you fertilize. Established gardens may have a history of fertilizer use. Various nutrients, such as potassium and phosphorous, can build up in the soil. Nitrogen may be the only active growth-enhancing ingredient your soil needs. Adding unneeded nutrients can disrupt pH levels and lead to toxic accumulations of salts and other harmful elements.Natural fertilizers are slow to break down into the nutrients the growing garden requires. Many natural fertilizers, such as manure, seaweed or fish oil, are quite smelly and are too offensive to use on indoor plants. Gathering natural materials, such as seaweed, grass clippings and leaves, to add to the compost pile is labor-intensive and time-consuming. Distribution of nutrients in organic fertilizer varies	The other two have the most Disadvantages or in other words the most harmful are •	Green house: Since green house gases helps to maintain the temperature, the primary effect of the increase in greenhouse gases would be on climate. ...•	Water level balance of the earth would be destroyed. ...•	Marine life and ecosystem would be destroyePesticides: damages to ecosystems. Insecticides and herbicides may be harmful for non-target species. Sources: https://myassignmenthelp.comPesticides pol https://pesticideinfo.net/https://homeguides.com/*

I am going to talk about how to increase the crop yield yo maximum amount first there are fertilizers, pesticides, and finally a greenhouse in my own opinion and after reading and searching the best way to increase crop yield is by putting fertilizers and the worst way to do it is by using pesticide the best way is fertilizers because they are healthy to the plant they do not harm the humans they don't effect the human while eating the plant they contain things that do not harm the environment. To make plants grow faster, what you need to do is supply the elements that the plants need in readily available forms. That is the goal of fertilizer. The greenhouse is a good idea but not all plants can be put in the green house because the green house is small not all the plants can fit inside the green house and some of the plants do not need a green house the plants should not be in a greenhouse its not there environment before the greenhouse was invented plants lived and were very healthy the fertilizers are better because they make the plant grow at a faster rate and they do not harm the environment they can be used to all kinds and sizes of plants unlike the green house. Since greenhouse gases helps to maintain the temperature, the primary effect of the increase in greenhouse gases would be on climate. Water level balance of the earth would be destroyed. Marine life and ecosystem would be destroyed.

pesticides are the worst way to increase the crop yield because they may harm humans or other animals that eat from the crop scientifically because pesticides are detrimental for the environment and produce considerable damage to ecosystems. I have three ways to increase my business. Here are the methods I can use: pesticides, fertilizers and green house. In this essay we will find out which method is better to use to help me increase my crop yield.

I think that fertilizers are the best way to increase crop growth because it is the one that less harms the environment and living things around it. While pesticides might kill pests they also harm humans, animals, the environment and might even harm the plant itself. While the greenhouse might ruin the plant because it is always doing photosynthesis so when it leaves the greenhouse it will not always do photothensisis and that will make the crop inedible to a human or animal.

In conclusion using fertilizers is the optimal way to increase crop yield due to it is not harming any plant, animal, human or the environment. While other methods may harm animals, humans and even the plant itself. That is why I think that using fertilizers is the optimal method between the other methods that are using pesticides and the greenhouse.

www.quora.com

There are three main ways to increase crop yield or maximise it's amount, which come in the forms of pesticides, fertilizers and greenhouses. So , starting from with in my eyes worst is pesticides, A change from the first draft, so pesticides are substances applied in the soil, they include herbicides for destroying insects , bacteria and unwanted vegetation(pests in general), they do excel at killing pests, but they can damage or potentially even kill the plant . Coming up next are fertilizers, they are substances applied in the soil that include nutrients such as nitrogen and potassium, there problem is they damage the plant's fertility, and a bit expensive. Ending in what in my eyes is the best way to increase crop yield, I think it's greenhouses , so greenhouses is basically a room with sufficient heat that is made from transparent structure such as glass , it is made for plants that require specific climate , and in my eyes its the best way to maximise crop yield.
Sources:https://homeguides.sfgate.com/plants-grow-better-greenhouses-47175.html,https://soilsmatter.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/why-do-farmers-use-fertilizers/,https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/pesticides/index.cfm

Increasing Crop

yeild

Farmers these days are looking for ways to increase the growth of their crops. Over the years, people have found ways to increase the rate of the crops’ growth. The three main ways are as follows: Fertilizers, Pesticides, and Greenhouse. Each point has its advantages and disadvantages, but which one is the best pick?

Fertilizers have many advantages. First, they give the soil chemicals needed to enrich it which help the plants’ growth. Second, they are a way to avoid soil refilling when crops are harvested. Third, they have nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, fertilizers have disadvantages. First, they are very expensive they might reach more than 60$. Second, they could be harmful if we use them incorrectly. Furthermore, that will cause disturbances in kidneys and lungs which might lead to more dangerous diseases such as cancer. Third, they cause plants to lose most of their nutrition which makes plants less organic.

Pesticides have many advantages. First, they are probably the fastest way of producing a new crop-it takes about two weeks to grow-because of the chemicals reaching the soil which make it act faster. Second, they act well against pests. Third, they are used to prevent the growth of mildew and bacteria. An important advantage is that pesticides save us-I meant the government-money although it is expensive. You might be wondering: “How did it save the government money exactly”. Well, after a quick 10-minute research, I found out that pesticides saved the U.S. government about 21 billion dollars on the long run since they kill all harmful substances inside a plant. Because of that, plants grew faster which helped the government export more to other countries. On the other hand, they have 1 major disadvantage, and that is without the right clothing-long sleeves, pants, gloves, and safety glasses-farmers could get seriously harmed or poisoned which may lead to death.

Greenhouses are rooms with transparent windows that allow sunlight to go through easily. They have one major advantage which is that they could control the temperature and amount of sunlight. This would help if scientists are conducting experiments, or if farmers just want some crops. They also have a major disadvantage which is that they are expensive as they require a lot of materials.

To sum it up, these three diverse methods have their pros and cons, but, in my humble opinion, I think that Greenhouses are the best choice.
Sources

https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/pesticides/index.cfm

https://www.bedbugsupply.com/faq-how-long-does-it-take-for-commercial-sprays-to-kill-bedbugs.html

Today I will talk about what is the best way to increase crop yield either its pesticides, fertilizers or greenhouse. In my opinion greenhouse is the best way to increase the crop yield. Now let me tell you why I choose the greenhouse not the pesticides or the fertilizers method. Also, I will tell you advantages over other methods and mention the disadvantages of other methods.

First method, I will start with the pesticides method. So, first pesticides are chemicals that kill or manage the population of insects for example insecticides and herbicides. The advantages of pesticides are that it increases food production, increase profits for farmers, prevention of diseases. The disadvantages of prevention are that it is prevented the deaths of around 7 million people by killing insects, however it can cause diseases also it may make brain tumors, cancers, spontaneous abortions, stillbirths, and birth defects. Farmers use it to kill the insects that eats the plants, so the farmers use it as a spray and Sprinkle it on the plants.

Second method, fertilizers are a chemical or natural substance added to soil or land to increase its fertility. The advantages of fertilizers are that it improves the soil and increase its ability to hold water and nutrients also it makes the soil stronger. Fertilizers are renewable and environmentally friendly. The disadvantages of fertilizers are that it destroys the friability of soil. It also affects the microorganisms living in the soil. Also, it makes fruits and vegetables with lower nutritional value and less flavor. Farmers use fertilizers by putting it in the soil to let it stronger.

Third method, greenhouse a glass building in which plants that need protection from cold weather are grown. The advantages of greenhouse are that it can grow in any weather. Also, it is longer growing season also protects from pets and predators it can also protect plants from bad weather. It also saves energy. The disadvantages of greenhouse is that the greenhouse is so expensive because you need a lot of advanced things to make a greenhouse, also it is not expensive as farming outside the greenhouse because you only need the seeds and some water, but it doesn’t protect the plant like the greenhouse.

In opinion greenhouse is the best method to increase the crop yield because it does not do damage it is only expensive, not like the pesticides and the fertilizers.

Baraa.M
With an overload of fertilizer, soil microbes on farms may belch unexpectedly high levels of nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas with 300 times as much heat-trapping power as carbon dioxide. The finding may help explain why agricultural nitrous oxide emissions are much higher than some scientists had predicted and could give clues for how to curb farm pollution.

Soil microbes have long been known to convert nitrogen-rich crop fertilizers, including manure and synthetic fertilizers, into nitrous oxide. After more than 1,000 field experiments, climate scientists calculated in the mid-2000s that the dirt dwellers spew about one kilogram of the greenhouse gas for every 100 kilograms of fertilizer, or roughly 1 percent. Researchers generally thought that emissions would scale up linearly: doubling fertilizer would double the emissions of gas.

But the predictions didn’t match up with real-world numbers. Estimating regional and global fluxes of atmospheric nitrous oxide levels a few years ago, researchers pegged the microbial conversion of fertilizer to gas at somewhere between 1.75 and 5 percent. Either the initial calculations were off or there were unknown sources of nitrous oxide, says biogeochemist Phil Robertson of Michigan State University in East Lansing. The latter was unlikely, he adds.

From cornfield experiments in Michigan in 2005, Robertson and colleagues found that the relationship between the amount of fertilizer and production of greenhouse gas is not always linear. When farmers apply larger amounts of fertilizer than initially tested, the relationship appears exponential — applying 200 kilograms of fertilizer could result in four kilograms of gas, for instance. Most of the original field experiments, he says, didn’t look at microbial gas conversion with excess fertilizer, far more than crops need. In such situations, the crops take up as much nitrogen as they can, and the rest goes to soil microbes, Robertson says. “They effectively go to town on that nitrogen,” he says.

To see if the finding held up on a global scale, Robertson and colleagues reanalyzed more than 200 experiments, each examining nitrous oxide emissions of multiple fertilizer levels, across 84 locations worldwide. The results confirm that excess fertilizer can exponentially boost the emissions of microbes, the team reports June 9 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. From this finding, Robertson infers that some farmers are using far more fertilizer than they need to, yielding more nitrous oxide than scientists had expected.

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/fertilizer-produces-far-more-greenhouse-gas-expected

Fertilizers have
been used since the start of agriculture.

1-Boosting growth booster can encourage the rapid growth booster greening agent fertilizers which have encourage the rapid growth and a greening agent .so fertilizers have rich nitrogen are particularly useful for plant growth.
2-accelration of maturation. The phossphures nutrient in fertilizers is mainly responsible for plant maturity. So planters who want to speed up their plants maturity should apply phosphors rich fertilizers.
3- enhance resistance.
Potassium can strengthen the stalks and straws of plants, enabling them to hold more water and become more resistant or drought conditions . So fertilizers can improve seed and fruit quality, producing greater produce and better earnings.

Pesticides are poisons and, unfortunately, they can harm more than just "pests"at which they are targeted.

If you are that one farmer that wants to increase his crop yield, then you might be interested in this essay. There are three main ways for increasing crop yield, Pesticides, Fertilizers and Greenhouses. I think that using fertilizers is the best way fro increasing crop yield because it's actually not that expensive and has the least pollution. However, I will explain what are those methods and what are the pros and cons of each one.

Fertilizers:

First, What are Fertilizers ?, Chemical fertilizers (also called inorganic, synthetic, artificial, or manufactured) have been refined to extract nutrients and bind them in specific ratios with other chemical fillers. These products may be made from petroleum products, rocks, or even organic sources. Some of the chemicals may be naturally occurring, but the difference is that the nutrients in chemical fertilizers are refined to their pure state and stripped of substances that control their availability and breakdown, which rarely occurs in nature.
Advantages:
1) Since nutrients are available to the plants immediately, improvement occurs in days.

2) They are highly analyzed to produce the exact ratio of nutrients desired.

3) Standardized labeling makes ratios and chemical sources easy to understand.

4) They’re inexpensive.
Disadvantages:
1) Chemical fertilizers are primarily made from nonrenewable sources, including fossil fuels.

2) They grow plants but do nothing to sustain the soil. The fillers do not promote life or soil health, and even packages labeled “complete” do not include the decaying matter necessary to improve soil structure. In fact, chemical fertilizers don’t replace many trace elements that are gradually depleted by repeated crop plantings, resulting in long-term damage to the soil.

3) Because the nutrients are readily available, there is a danger of over fertilization. This not only can kill plants but upset the entire ecosystem.

4) Chemical fertilizers tend to leach, or filter away from the plants, requiring additional applications.

Pesticides:

The word pesticides contains the element "-cide" that was borrowed from Latin and means "killer" or "killing". Which means that it's "The Pest Killer". Pests include insects, mites, worms, fish, birds, animals, weeds, fungi, bacteria and viruses. Pests feed on crops and parasitize on livestock.
Advantages:
1) Cost Effectiveness : Pesticides are inexpensive to buy and producing good results without costing a lot of money.
2) Crop protection : They are used to protect standing crops in the field from pests and other harmful insects.
3) Control pests : It can also be used to control household pest. They are also used to control pest such as rodents, insects etc., causing damage to various animals, books, stored foods, wooden articles etc.,
Disadvantages:
1) Reduction of beneficial species : The chemicals used in pesticides are slightly harmful and kills beneficial species of interest and reduces their population.
2) Residues in foods : When pesticides are applied to food crops , residues of pesticides may remain on or in food and may be harmful to the body if it is availabel in higher level.
3) Kill natural pest enemies : Sometimes pesticides may also eleminates natural enemies of pests such as predators and parasites, leads to increase in population of pests.

Greenhouse:

Greenhouse/Glasshouse is a building designed for the protection of tender or out-of-season plants against excessive cold or heat.
Advantages:
1) Good distribution of light inside the greenhouse. The greenhouse covers have the ability to change the direction of the sun’s rays, thus evenly distributed over the entire surface, benefiting the entire greenhouse and avoiding the sun’s rays directly to the plant.

2) Energy efficiency. Takes advantage of the environmental conditions, such as optimizing the heat inside the greenhouse.

3)Control of microclimate. One of the main advantages of a greenhouse is to control and establish the optimal environment for cultivation. You can adjust the temperature, humidity, lighting, etc.
Disadvantages:
1) Global warming : As you all know, Global Warming is already causing the melting of ice, rise in sea levels, more intense storms, billions of dollars of damage to property, and the loss of lives.
2) Reduction in the rate of Photosynthesis : The rate of Photosynthesis slows down as the concentration of Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases beyond the concentration of 0.05%.
3) Extinction : Excess amount of Carbon dioxide is already indirectly causing the extinction of many species.

To wrap it up, I think that fertilizers is the best way to increase crop yield. But that is just an opinion
anyone could have a different opinion about this. I hope this was useful.

...........................................................

Citation:
https://www.todayshomeowner.com/debate-over-organic-chemical-fertilizers/

https://pesticideinfo.net/

http://frndzzz.com/Advantages-and-Disadvantages-of-Pesticides

http://www.jhuete.com/advantages-greenhouse/

https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-advantages-and-disadvantages-of-greenhouse-gases-and-the-greenhouse-effect

If you are a farmer that wants to fill his needs then you about increasing the crop yield but how do you so, well there are three ways , Fertilizers,Pesticides and Greenhouse
Fertilizers:
Fertilizers provide nutrients for the plant, and they provide it with chemicals the help them grow which are Phosphorus and Potassium, they are very useful as they are probably the easiest and fastest way , as some types of fertilizers like micronutrient fertilizers enrich the crop with nutrients that even support human health but fertilizers are made from water residuals ( waste water ) as they are recycled from other areas which gives a high possibility of toxic waste which is human hazard

Pesticides
Pesticides is a substance used to kill forms of plants and pests like insects and Fungi and it also prevents the spread of bacteria, but remember what is the use of pesticides yes you saw it right , pesticides can actually kill forms/types of plants because of its compounds and most types of pesticides are non selective which means that it actually may kill the plant , sadly pesticides have more risks/negativity than benefits/positivity

Greenhouse :
I think I would not surprise too much people by saying that greenhouse is the best, it is basically without any chemicals , all what it is , is small window- mounted structures it is the best in almost every way it helps the plant grow for 24 hours, which in case you didn't know is impossible without greenhouse and helps the pant itself to do processes like Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis but it has a small negative which is that it costs money and taxes increase but if you want to increase your crop yield and you have enough to get a greenhouse, then get it
I hope people respect my desicion an that is it
Citation
https://homeguides.sfgate.com/plants-grow-better-greenhouses-47175.html

https://www.chemicalsafetyfacts.org/fertilizers/

https://www.livestrong.com/article/119955-harmful-effects-fertilizers/

https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/pesticides/index.cfm

There are three ways to increasing crop yield. Fertilizers,Pesticides, and the green house. In my opinion Fertilizers are the best way to increase the crop yield . There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages of the fertilizers. One of the advantages are that fertilizers have very good nutrients and the grass love this .
And other plants help it to gain more energy and to make more food and to grow more and its taste if its fruit will be more fresher and more tasty. And one of the disadvantages is Chemical fertilizers are primarily made from nonrenewable sources, including fossil fuels. Advantages of the green house. One of them Greenhouses protect crops from many diseases, particularly those that are soil borne and splash on to plants in the rain.
What is crop yieldIn agriculture, crop yield refers to both the measure of the yield of a crop per unite area of land cultivation. Sources: https://myassignmenthelp.comPesticides pol https://pesticideinfo.net/https://homeguides.com/
