This was the first time I ever went fishing with my grandpa. I was 5 years old and just stunned by all of the peaceful things around me. I remember the crispness in the air, the crunch of the leaves, the feeling of my first tug the line as my first fish took the bite. I remember my grandpa's laughter as I fell backward because I pulled it right out of the water with way too much strength.

Econfina creek is a network of cold springs in north Florida. It is a system of drinkable water that is protected by the state. To me it was an awe moment because of how pure the water was and how balanced the eco system is to the point that the water is potable. You can also float through the currents for about 4-5 hours before being dumped into a more traditional muddy river.
