A major issue facing the EU as a foreign and security policy actor is the trouble and reluctance to condemn, address or acknowledge the breaches of international law by some nations. This can be due to not wanting to break alliances or face criticism by stronger nations but this should morally not be so, because nations need to have a backbone in order to get things done. However, that is not the reality and many nations fear larger nations that do breach international law and this allows it to keep happening.
