He starts to get into a relationship with Tris and is a lot nicer. However, in front of other people, he is still that merciless leader even to Tris which confuses me because they are pretty much a couple now, but he still treats her the same. He could be protecting her from more criticism like how Four is going to prefer her more than everyone else and he's her favorite, etc. Even if that was his purpose, he should still consider how Tris might feel.
