      <description>A Connecticut consultant with an extensive background in corporate tax law, Dennis John Olmstead has engaged with Bridgewater Associates in a. consultancy capacity. Having held responsibilities with the firm as tax and shareholder services head from 2011 to 2019, Dennis John Olmstead reported to the CEO and founder, and guided the tax department in ways that met strategic and risk objectives. Among his areas of oversight were travel and residency policies, and he ensured that contract commitments and reconciliations were effectively managed.

Holding a juris doctor from the McGeorge School of Law, Mr. Olmstead completed graduate studies in the European Economic Community, and international and comparative law at the Free University of Brussels. He was active as tax manager with the Arthur Young International Services Group in New York in the late 1980s and worked on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions deals.

Mr. Olmstead subsequently spent five years as group tax and legal counsel with Citibank’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa Consumer Services Group. He successfully oversaw a restructuring of the German business and facilitated major train financings and airplane leasing agreements. Over the years, Dennis John Olmstead has also held executive responsibilities with global practices such as UBS in Zurich and Ernst &amp; Young in New York.
