This settlement benefited both the Anglo-Americans and Mexico. The Anglo- Americans now had a place to settle ,and Mexico now had a way to prevent boarder violations and native american attacks. However, Texas later became territory of the United States after the Anglo- Americans rebelled against Mexico. They felt that their rights were being limited by Mexico’s strict rules and fought for their independence. In 1836, the Republic of Texas was established, but soon became the 28th state in the union on December 29, 1845.

Texas wants its own independent government in order to stop America’s unlimited spending and endless debt. They also want to put a stop to the government’s taxation of their hard earned money. Texas believes that they can preserve the original beliefs of the founding fathers and that they can prevent against the government abuse of their rights by leaving the union.
