Our institution was opened to education in 1980 and is located in a plain on the Mediterranean coast where various cultural and natural beauties are blended. In our school, 37% of our students are refugee children. In addition, it has become an institution where seasonal workers and refugee children are educated due to its location in the Silifke Plain and its job site. Therefore, it has a rich folkloric structure where different cultures come together.
As Silifke Arkarası Primary School, ”To educate our students as individuals who possess their national and spiritual values ​​and are capable of adapting themselves to scientific and technological developments in the 21st century” is its vision. In our school, eTwinning projects are active every year. All the teachers in our school are project managers in the eTwinning part. The project “Giving Hope To Refugee Children’ ği, which was founded by our school principal, received the second prize in the inclusion category in 2017. Atayurt Schools Foreign Languages ​​Club was awarded the ENO (Environment Online) 2012 Certificate for its contribution to the tree planting of schools all over the world (with the Book to Tree Project).

With our Healthy Life School Project, which has been carried out in our school for 5 years, our students, parents and staff are informed by getting support from our project partner Acıbadem Hospital.
As a result of our positive efforts, we received the "Nutrition Friendly School" Project certificate on 03.07.2012.
Later, by expanding this project; We reinforce the "I take as much as I can eat, I consume what I eat, I Love My Heart, Healthy Eating, Fighting Obesity, Dental Health, Cleaning Begins with the Hand" activities with the collective sports activities we do in the garden every morning, and we ensure that our students start the day happily and healthily at school.
IB-PYP SYSTEM IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
At the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year, Atayurt Schools broke new ground in our city. “International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program was put into practice in order for them to grow up as individuals of the world who are inquiring, thinking, communicating, knowledgeable, sensitive, open-minded and reflective and committed to their national values ​​and cultural identity. All of our Primary School Teachers have received PYP training. Since face-to-face education has been suspended due to the Pandemic that has been going on for two years, the work has been accelerated to obtain the "PYP Primary Years Authorized School Document", which is our goal, in the 2021-2022 academic year.
