Objective:  To talk about culturally apppropriate behavior worldwide using expressions to ask and answer.

Timing:  20 minutes

I would follow the following steps:

1)  Presentation:  

I would show photos related to Turkey for students to activate background knowledge related to Turkey and eating habits there.

I would show the dialog to students in written and I would play a recording of it.  I would ask comprehension questions related to the content of the conversation.

I would ask students to practice the conversation and I would help them with pronunciation issues.

I would point out which funcional language would be useful for asking and answering questions related to appropriate behavior in Turkey.

2)  Practice:

a)  Mechanical:  I would give students an unfinished conversation about appropriate behavior in Japan and cues on how to give an end to a conversation using the funcional language that was previously presented.

b)  Guided:  I would provide them with cues on how to behave in Saudi Arabia and I would ask students to create their own conversation.

3)  Production:  I would ask students to role-play as an American visiting Peru and a Peruvian giving him information about culturally appropriate behavior for different situations.

I would do these steps:

1) Presentation:

First, I would start showing some animals and foods, alongside some vegetarian food for the students to discuss with their partners.

Then, I would roleplay a dialog alonside a puppet I will have on my hand. It will be about people who eat animals meat, and how there are some people who doesn`t.

2) Practice:

a) Mechanical: I would make students we aware of vegetarians via a practice, in which to people are eating: One is eating meat and the other is not.

b) Guided: I would provide them information on how to behave in this situation and what they have to take in consideration.

3) Production: I would ask students to take the role of a vegetarian or a people who eat meat. And making them have a polite conversation regarding this topic.

4) Wrap-up, giving and end to the activity: I would ask students what they have to do on that situation. 1) Presentation:
First, I would ask the students if they have ever got lost somewhere to activate background knowledge and make them think of what they did. I would also review vocabulary about asking and giving directions

Then, I would show a dialog about a tourist getting lost in a foreign country, and ask the students to help me read. I would ask comprehension questions about the dialog.
"Do you think it was good to ask for help?"
"Do you think it would be easy to get lost in your city?"

I would show functional language that would be useful for asking and giving advice.
2) Practice:

a) Mechanical: I would ask the students to read the dialog again and underline expressions for asking and giving advice.

b)Guided: I would give them an unfinished conversation and cues so that they can fill in the blanks using the functional language.

3) Production:
I would ask them to create a conversation about someone asking for advice.

4) Wrap-up, giving and end to the activity:

I would show images about pollution for students to  activate the background knowledge and ask some questions about the photos

I would show the dialogue and play a recording, then I would ask comprehension questions and opinions about the dialogue.

I would ask students to practice the conversation with all class and check the pronunciation.

I would show the some expressions used in the conversation and some phrasal verbs related to the pollution.

2) Practice:

    a)Mechanical: I would give students a conversation with disordered words, the students must order the word or expression that should go.

   b)Guided: ..................

3) Production: I would ask students to role-play, student 1 "polluter" and student 2 "advicer". Student 2 should give advice to student 1 so that he/she does not continue to pollute the street with the expressions learned in class, then exchange roles.

4)Wrap-up, giving an end to the activity:
A game about the importance of the environment or expresions learned in class, using Word Wall or kahoot.

b)Guided:

I would provide them with clues on how to respond if they know, are not sure, or don't know about the holiday and ask them to create their own conversation.

3) Production: 

I would ask students to role-play as if they were talking to an exchange partner and give them information about holidays in their country.

4) Wrap-up , giving an end to the activity.

After, I would show them some flags of different countries around the world. Plus, I would model the pronunciation and ask them to pronounce it, too.

Next, I would ask them to tell me peruvian traditions they know. 

Finally, I would present to them some expressions they can use for talking about traditions.

2) Practice:

 a)Mechanical: I would give students a worksheet with a conversation between a peruvian and a chinese person in which they are talking about traditions from their countries. In this activity, students have to fill the blanks using a box with the expressions learned before.

b)Guided: I would give them a list of traditions from countries around the world. and ask students to create their own conversations using the information given.

3) Production: I would ask students to choose a country for representing in a role-play activity. They have to talk about the traditions of the country chosen.
