seriousness of purpose to convey to students-linked to their well being

students drawn to knowledge not forced

teachers can modify their approach as needed

student questions can be a launchpad for further research in class

must show you know more and have serenity in the world they don't have yet

superior status-distance, detachment, impartiality

status gained not because a better person but because of superior knowledge

sometimes admit you don't know things and can search together for answers, though may slightly lesson superiority

I am eager to gain more authority in my classroom

I had alot of energy and enthusiasm as a younger teacher that made up for my lack of experience with classroom management

setting boundaries has become easier

I'd like to learn how to respond to students who seem to press my buttons and I get agitated with quickly
