Using the internet is an essential part of the Media course. Starting with Blogger, which allows us to share our research, planning, production and evaluation. On the following example, I've used Blogger to go back on my research of Laura Mulvey's theory on representation and the "male gaze". Then I used Katy Perry as an example of an artist who follows the theory (mostly). I used Google to research her songs and YouTube to look at them, and decide which one is a good example. I've found that the song "California Gurls" follows the theory as it shows the artist naked and the male character sitting on a table and eating, presented as if being the king. Then using Google Images I found her album's digipak and I wanted to compare them and see how they link in terms of synergy. With the use of these basic pieces of technologies, which allowed me to research similar artists to mine, I now understand the links that need to be created between two different products, a music video and a digipak.
