    The Alexandria Bookstore & Café is now hiring temporary Booksellers & Baristas to help us with our Fall 2019 RUSH.  
    Although both positions will initially be temporary, we are looking to keep a few people on after our fall rush.
     
    The pay will be $8.50 an hour and is non-negotiable.
     
    For the Café opening, barista experience is not required although it is strongly preferred.
     
    When submitting your application please attach a copy of your Summer 2019 & Fall 2019 class schedule inlist view. You don't need  to be a NOVA student to apply. F1-Student's may apply.
     
    At a minimum you need to be able to work either
    1st shift: 7:30am to 1:30pm
    or  
    2nd shift 1:30pm to 7:30pm
    Monday - Thursday at least 3 days out of the 4
    The shifts above are the minimum we will accept, if you are able to work more hours that is preferred.
     
    Friday: 7:30am to 2:30pm
     
    You MUST be able to work the Saturdays we are open, which will be 2 in August. You'd have to work between 9:30am to 5:30pm.

    • Continuing F1 students: If you have been taking classes in the U.S. or overseas while maintaining your F1 status since on or before March 9th, 2020 you are considered to be a continuing student.
      • You will not be required to take any hybrid or in person courses for Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022.
      • You are permitted to take all your classes online while remaining in the U.S.
      • You are permitted to take all your classes online from overseas
      • In both cases you must take at least 12 credits to maintain F1 status.
    • Recent Transfer F1 students: who were NOT enrolled at a U.S. institution on or before March 9th, 2020 must continue to enroll in at least one in person or hybrid course for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. 
    • F1 Transfer students who were enrolled at a U.S. institution on or before March 9th, 2020 must report to a DSO at NOVA by email within 15 days of their program start date.
    • Change of Status F1 students approved for Summer/Fall 2021 or Spring 2022: must enroll in at least one in person or hybrid course for the abovementioned term/semesters.

    Fall 2021 Registration Reminder    : Any F1 student who fails to register full-time (12 credits) by 08/23/2021 may have their F-1 status terminated in SEVIS.  


    IF YOU DECIDE TO STUDY OUTSIDE THE U.S. FOR FALL SEMESTER:     You must notify the Office of International Students, Ms. Camila McTighe, Senior Compliance Officer at cmctighe@nvcc.edu using your NOVA email and include your full name and 7 Digit Student ID (EMPLID).
