This is Tyna, your student from Borgia! When I heard that you would be leaving Addu SHS to pursue a new opportunity outside the institution, I was shocked and, at the same time, saddened by the news. Despite feeling this emotion, I realized that my classmates and I are fortunate to have had the experience of being your students before you leave. I am incredibly grateful and appreciative to have had you as a great mentor here in SHS. From grade 11, you have taught me many valuable lessons inside of the classrooms, shared laughs, and expressed sentiments on social sciences, humanities, and religion. I'll carry all of these in my heart as I graduate soon and expand my horizons more in college. With all you have taught in class, your dedication and love for humanities and social sciences instilled a beautiful feeling in me. I saw how ignited your passion is in this common interest of ours, and it fueled my appreciation more for it and thus gave me the confidence to someday be a massive influence in someone's life just like the way you are to me.

Sir Thor, your influence has sparked me more than ever to be someday be a significant role model in the humanities and social sciences field. Unfortunately, the subsequent batches of HUMSS students can't experience your expertise as a HUMSS teacher. However, please be comforted by the idea that despite the absence of your presence in the future of these learners, we your students, along with the social science cluster teachers, will keep your stories alive for us to share, relive, and reflect.

I appreciate the teaching strategies you did in class, it helped me understand the lessons in my own understanding. Your passion to teach never cease to amaze me, I will someday apply that passion and wisdom in the future as I become a Professor. And mayhaps, choose to study Law also.

I will never forget how you warned me about my addiction to drinking Red Bull 😆 do not worry, I have stopped drinking it. My anxiety attacks have lessened after I stopped.

I will never forget your usual routine in class, where you bring a laptop and coffee on the other hand, while coming inside the classroom. Though, I will miss those tiny moments where I get to converse with you in regards to my academics.

I’ll definitely remember the kulba everytime you call me out for recitations, trying to juggle up the right words to at least give you a justifiable answer (pero mali parin).

And everytime malaman ko ang scores ko sa mga quizzes ng subject, I would say na  madismaya ako with it, but I somehow still find the concepts you teach intriguing, which drives me to study even more, making me enjoy the subject. You made our senior highschool journey memorable, sir. Anyways, I want to share a core memory I have with your class (this was during PPG, I believe this was the lesson on Citizenship?) where you entered the classroom with nothing but a handful of different colored markers. You begin the class as usual with a prayer, followed by attendance, then you immediately start the lesson. With the markers you brought, you started scribbling on the board as you discuss. You turn around once in a while to face us and ask questions, write down our responses, then discuss again. Until now, I still wonder why you entered our class with just markers that day (even your signature coffee mug did not make an appearance 😔); whether it was due to unforeseen circumstances or pure, raw intention, I guess I'll never know. But sir, honestly, that was one of the coolest things that you've done and I was amazed to witness it. It may not mean much to you as it might just be routine, but for me it became an inspiration - a goal where one day, I wish to be a master of my craft in the future just like how you were on that lecture on Citizenship.

Sir, you were one of the people in school who made me adamant of my future course and career choice, as well as humble me. Believe it or not, DISS and PPG are my favorite subjects partly because of how you approach the lessons during your lectures. On one hand, you further fueled my ambition to take up Political Science in college because I enjoyed the discussions. But on the other hand, you humbled me because you reminded me that despite my great interest in these subjects, I still need to experience how it feels to struggle especially if I plan to take these subjects in a career level (Your quizzes were a testament to that haha). Aside from the academic-related things that I learned in your class, I also learned some values that helped build my character and prepare me for the future. You being my teacher taught me to work hard and push for my dreams while staying grounded and keeping a good head on my shoulders. Because at the end of the day, a person with a rational head and a passionate heart will reap the benefits of their success.

For that sir, I just want to say thank you so much for being such an amazing teacher to us. You were always patient and understanding to your students no matter what day of the week it was. You were also very supportive and encouraging to us, even if we felt like there was nothing else to give anymore. You saw the potential in each and every one of us, therefore you never hesitated to bring out that potential.

Forever grateful sad ko kai one memory sa gr11 siguro sir kai katong nangutana ko sa imo about Psych tapos nanghatag kag insight about the jobs it can offer. I will also miss the time sir tung first interaction natong duha kai katong nag study ko for DISS for special exams tapos giingnan ko nimo dili mag sigeg study basin ma mental block. (Sa tinuod lang sir tinuod jud HAHAHAHAHA) Tapos nag gara gara sad ko sa ngalan nako sir by telling you I was Lugo tapos gi tawag ko nimog Lugo the whole session sa DISS. 😭

I really treasure all of your teachings sir. You’re one of the teachers who has gravely inspired me to pursue what I want. You’re also the teacher who made me face my fears in social situations which I’m forever grateful for.

It’s such an honor sir to have someone as dedicated as you are as a teacher. And it’s also such an honor to have been taught by the SIR. THOR sa HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUSTER.

I have been shocked by many things before but none of them shocked me as much as the news of you leaving sir. Like jaw to the floor shocked. But i was not sad, firstly because I know you will find success in whichever role you undertake next, but also because I greatly appreciate the role you played in my senior high school life.

I think what really made me appreciate your role was that you gave your all to teaching DISS and PPG. These are two important subjects for HUMSS students and you taught us not just to remember the concepts in the lessons but also the importance of us understanding these lessons and how they connect to us being responsible citizens. Although you didn't necessarily study to become a teacher, you took it very seriously but also did it very well and I can testify that many of us in Bobola, even those who don't look very interested whenever you teach genuinely looked forward to and took great interest in your lessons.

I think it was very fitting sir that the last lesson you taught to us was the one on Citizenship. I think that might have been the one where we were the most engaged but it was also genuinely astounding. Whenever I take notes usually I just copy what is written on the powerpoint and maybe some of what the teacher says. But on that day there was no laptop nor was there the usual attendance. Diretso lesson. And then without any notes at all you were able to give a full lesson on citizenship, even entertaining ridiculous questions at the end. I remember something was very different about that PPG session, it felt like everyone was tuned in as you managed to do something I have genuinely not seen any other teacher do during my time in AdDU. In the teachers assessment form one of the criteria is 'shows mastery of subject' and then a one to five rating, just for that i would have given you a six. It truly was a mic drop performance, which is why it was so fitting that it was your last lesson.

I genuinely feel very grateful to have had you as my teacher in both Grade 11 and 12 and I pray you find fulfillment and success in whatever you choose to do in the future (unless it is criminality). I cannot exactly find the words for most of what I want to say here but what I know for sure is that not just I but all of Bobola will miss you and that we will not forget the lessons that you directly and indirectly taught us. They made us much better people.

Regards to your family, and a very very big thank you Sir Thor. May you be showered with as much with blessings, money, and mugs of coffee as you wish.

In short, sir, all-rounder ka na teacher!! Alongside Ma'am Ches, you were one of the people who deepened my drive to explore social science more. I just want you to know, sir, that you're a very effective teacher, one of the best teachers I've had, like naa sa top 5, sir!!
