We were practically inseparable, and lasted even until fifth grade when when our friend group grew larger. Sixth grade came and went, but trouble started racing our way around seventh grade. Alex was starting to become a jerk to everyone for no reason. The friend group distanced themselves from him slowly, even me.

On the first day of eighth grade, we received the news that our long time friend, Peyton, had moved away. He'd been hinting at it for a bit, but we never thought it would work out. I eventually made new friends, and I was practically half way out the door. The group was separated by the end of the year.

We met in my apartment complex about five to six years ago. Even throughout all of my coming and going school friendships, he was always still there. To make a long story short, he moved. I still see him, but not often. About like once a month, maybe two times. But the difference with this story is that we still are best friends.
