'Much' and 'many' are two words that many of my students misunderstand and mistake regularly. To help you with your English learning, let's take a look at how to use each word.
Differences between much and many

'Much' is used when we are talking about a singular noun. Used for things you can count on.
'Many' is used when we are talking about a plural noun. It is used for things you can not tell.

When we speak of 'many' and 'much', it is worth mentioning the accounting and countless nouns.

Accounting nouns can be used with a number and have plural and singular form. Countless nouns can only be used in singular and can not be used with a number.

Examples:
"How much money do you have?"
"How many friends do you have?"

Wait a minute! I know what you're thinking. We can count money, right? Yes, you are right, however we must use the precise currency (pesos, dollars, euros) to use the word 'many'.

We do not say, "I have 100 money."
We say: "I have 100 pesos." Or "How many dollars do you have?"

'Much' and 'many' are often used with negative questions and clauses.

Examples:
"I do not have many friends."
"How much money did you spend last night?"

Positive clauses are used with the words: 'so', 'as', or 'too'.

Examples:
"I have so much homework tonight!"
"She has so many shoes as I do."
"John worries too much."
