My last cross country meet in eighth grade

This happened in November 2018 at St. Rose high school in Belmar. This was my last meet running with my middle school team of 4 years and it was very emotional. I was terrified and it was bitter and freezing outside. I had to run a mile and a half with my friends and teammates. I will always remember being on the starting line anxious and nerves going throughout my stomach and body. It was a difficult course with several hills and obstacles but in my last half a mile I passed a few girls and finished the race strong. I placed 7th and got a medal. I never placed that high and my times were great. I was also very sad because my two best friends Sydney and Emma Grace where going off to a different high school and this was my last time running with them on the same team as me. It was a nice ending before high school.

My first day of high school

It was the beginning of September in 2019 and I was starting at a new school transitioning from catholic school to public school. I was terrified because I really didn't know where my classes were and even though I made some friends from cross country I really didn't have a friend group to fit in with. The one thing I vividly remember is my friend Anna asking me to sit with her and her friends at lunch and hugging me the beginning of the day when we met up finding our classes. Her and my friends from cross country are some of the most important and genuine people I have ever met and I can't wait for the future. When I met my teachers some of them I didn't like at first but by the end of the school year they were my favorites. I felt very successful at the end of the day because I moved to a whole new town and met new people. It was a really good day that I will never forget.

My eight grade graduation

My eighth grade graduation was in June of 2019 and it was a very humid and rainy day. I was in the church connected to my middle school and I was moving on. I remember my green uncomfortable robe and my hair was very frizzy from the weather. I was petrified because I had to walk down the aisle at the church and bring the bread and wine to the priest before they gave out the host. I was also very nervous because I had to receive my diploma by walking up to the altar and I did not want to fall in high heels. This was important in my life because I was moving on. The beginning of the mass was very boring, but by the end I was in tears because I realized a whole important period of my life was over and I was starting a brand new one in high school. This had an impact on me because I will never forget my life at Saint Joseph's Grade School, my teachers, and my friends. I do miss the nostalgic moments but all good things must come to an end.
