Building on positive momentum.
Pulling out of class and making an appointment for 12PM. Working together during lunch. Contact with parent has helped.

Intentional pairing of kids to help others along and cultivating friendships.

When I worked at Richland we ran a specific program - Check and Connect. They identified at risk kids, then basically asked people to look through the list for a student or two that they had in class or had some sort of connection with. You were then that student's "person". You intentionally focused on those one or two, calling them in outside of class to check in on grades or how other things were going, helping them see places they could improve in classes, and helping them learn ways that they can advocate for themselves. . .

Yeah! We had that at my first school...so we had 1-2 mentees that we met with regularly...don't know how that would work virtually but it did help in person

A lot of informal SEL checks, a soft start of class, first 10 and last 10 are for the students not for as well as multiple check-
ins. Doing one on one conferences. Kids are in one on one with the teach while the
other students work asynchronously.
