This is a big innovation, it is the first 3D video game. Instead of 2 dimensional games, there are now 3 dimensional games. Battlezone was the first video game to be 3D. It is the first video game with 3 dimensional objects, and where the world is made out of 3D objects. It has height, width, and depth. This innovation was significant because it is a new generation of gaming. Instead of having rather boring 2D video games, there is now 3D. Games that include height, width, and depth with interactive 3D objects.

(“NarraSoft”)

According to Wikepedia, this is the first online video game, you could play it online with other people. It was made by Roy Trubshaw. MUD1 was an easy to use dungeon story mode roleplaying game. This innovation was significant because this game could be played through networks allowing people in totally different places to play at the same time. It was crazy at the time that two people in totally different places could team up and work together to try and get through tasks.

(Wikipedia Contributors)

According to Blippard, this is the first video game that has AR. In this video game, you had to look around and try and shoot enemies which will spawn in random places. This invention would further lead to other famous AR games like Pokemon Go. This was an interesting new concept which took your room or the place you are playing and put the video game in it. Instead of you being inside a totally different world as in VR, the video game incorporates the place you are playing at and adapts to it, bringing the enemies into your living room.

(Blippar)

1991-The First VR Console-VR-1 Motion Simulator

The first VR arcade machine was made. Later on in 1994 SEGA introduced the VR-1 motion simulator. The VR-1 motion simulator could be played in SegaWorld Arcades. Even though before this innovation, people had already begun using VR but not for video games but rather for researching. This would change the world of gaming because VR is a new type of technology. Instead of looking at a screen you go into the VR world. This is a big innovation because it makes video games more realistic. Instead of pressing buttons you are actually moving around. On this VR headset you could play PacMan VR, shooters, but also racing games.

(Dom Barnard)
