This is a brief video explaining the connection between improving patient care and technology by way of nursing informatics. The video does a nice job of demonstrating how a nurse can assist in healthcare informatics through first hand knowledge acquired at the bedside. Prior to the pandemic, Medicare and Medicaid were not reimbursing providers for telehealth visits, limiting this convenience to a small percentage of patients and providers. We saw the importance of how telehealth was not only convenient but safe while still providing effective care. To reduce alert fatigue, it is discussed that software improvement should evaluate the alerts that are frequently overlooked and eliminate them to reduce alert fatigue. I found this article interesting because it is a software that can be used to create interoperability among many EHRs, while allowing, a safe and private exchange of patient information.
