There are many responsible ways to manage your money. One way to help save for short and long term goals is to “Don’t worry about the neighbors” (4). This means that you should only be worrying about the internal needs of your family and not anyone on the outside. Another way is not to “spend every dime the you earn”(3) you should “save 10% of each paycheck” (3). This will help you build up money for things like retirement. A third way is to Budget. This is a way for you to plan and know where all your money is going.

The best responsible financial decision I have ever made was deciding to get a job and save my money. I work at the Hilliard East pool as a lifeguard and I plan to save part of every paycheck I receive. My worst irresponsible financial decision I have ever made and still do is buying things I don’t need. This is something I hope I will improve on after taking this class. In the end, being financially responsible is living within my means. For me I need to adjust my spending habits to save for important things like college.
