I think Slack can be a great tool to use in the English lessons because it is a collaborative and challenging app. I would use it when I want my students to work on a project. They could communicate to each other in order to reach an agreement or manage the project in teams. Moreover, they could share docs and information through Slack.

Although I am a teacher, I am not practicing for the moment. I am responsible for a training center and I think slack, which I did not know, has many potentialities that we should take advantage of. From the information I gathered the most important and obvious isSlack makes communication much easier. Everything is centralized in one place. And, besides being very simple and practical to use, it has an excellent notification system.Even if you are not online, when someone calls you, you receive an app notification from your phone. And if you do not answer the call promptly, in a few minutes, the service will send you an email telling you about the interaction.Slack improves the agility of communication, the interaction with the team, solving simple problems and anything that depends on a fluid communication to function.The most interesting is that you can create channels for different teams. If I am working on three projects at the same time, each of them can have its communication channel. It is also possible to create secret groups, to deal with internal and bureaucratic matters, which concern only those in charge of the school.
I will train and start using this tool that will greatly facilitate our shared work

Slack seems like a useful tool for communicating with the students (and not just with the students). I especially like the fact that you can organise it in channels and that you can use it not just for messaging but also for adding various documents. I can certainly see myself using it in the classroom. I could send messages to my students, they could ask for help/guidance with their work… the possibilities are numerous…

I would love to use slack in my school, however we are bound by strict data protection laws and are not allowed to use cloud services for risks of hacking. Personally, I am not in agreeance with this as almost anything can be hacked nowadays but it is a rule I need to stick to or risk losing my job.

It would be a good idea to use slack in my school, especially to prepare activities with the collaboration of the education community (teachers, pupils, parents and institutions). But I am afraid that due to the data projecton laws many of the documents would have to be treated just like it does now. In addition, this tool is useful if all teachers participate, and this task of ongoing teacher training, we do not all understand it in the same way.

It looks very interesting to have a channel of communication with topics. It's good that it is searchable. The fact that we can use other media or apps, make it more efficient. Plus, we avoid too many emails where we loose track.

Hi, I think it is more suitable for a work enviroment than a school one. I prefer other platforms to be used with the class to share documents and files outside the class . In class it is also important to keep a direct and vocal communication.

I didn't know about it. I used Fb (private groups I did myself) to organize events with my students: Slack could be a good alternative to that. Perhaps it could be useful to organize a debate about a project in school time because even shy students can have their own space. Actually in my school we are introducing Google as school channel: every teacher and every students has his/her own account, so I think we'll try to concentrate on that. Then we had some feedback from Alma Diploma that our students can't use e-mail:-( and so we are trying to push them towards e-mail

Slack is a cloud-based communication and collaboration tool about which I did not know before. Anyway, I find it interesting and more powerful for collaboration and communication among students and teachers than other communication apps or social networks (e.g Google plus and hangouts, Whats App, Viber etc). It enables better organization of instant messages and it can be easily installed to almost all kinds of computers, tablets and smart phones. I may use it in my classroom for projects which need instant after-school communication between me and my students. I hope that the free edition is adequate for educational purposes.

I have never tried Slack in my classroom. To be honest, I haven’t heard of it till now. But I think it is a very interesting tool. It can be used for:

- communicating information about the class

- sharing files

- collecting students’ work

- providing students with feedback on their work

- sending announcements to the whole class

- organizing students into groups for assignments.

I have never heard or tried Slack in my classroom until now. But I think it is a very interesting tool. Slack is a cloud-based team collaboration tool for real-time messaging that brings all your communication together in one place, allowing archiving and search for modern teams.

I have never heard about Slack till now. It seems a very interesting tool as you can make a channel for a project, a topic, a team, or anything and everyone has a transparent view of all that’s going on. You can create private channels as well and invite a few team members.

I may not use slack in class, because my students are too young. However, I am going to propose the tool as a resource to work online with teachers from other schools. It´s the first time I heard about Slack. Don´t know if I will be able to use it with students right away. Between them and using their smartphones, students use apps as “WhatsApp” and “Viber” to communicate so maybe that´s a way to reach to them.

I did not know Slack and I have not used in the classroom. I think Slack is a great tool because it ensures security and sharing, is rich in tools, it is easy to use as FB but safer. I cannot use it with my students, because many do not have access to the internet at home. Unfortunately, the proposed scenarios always require an Internet connection. If you want to introduce to introduce digital innovation to bridge the gap of the digital divide for all it should be provided with free access to citizens!!!

Last summer I use this tool with some colleagues (4 people) to organise our academic year. We divided our work in pairs, we share a pair of documents and thought some strategies for a new project . It was cool to be easily used by mobile phone in summer. After that days we left it. But, now I have realize I could share this app with my students, and I guess I will try it! Nice idea!!

Well it's very smart. It's enabling communication and collaboration very easily. All you need is a device to work on the same project. you don't need to be in the same room any longer to work together. It's a step in the right direction for the future.

My colleague uses Edmodo to give extra work for Biology and share materials. I have searched for comparison of Slack and Edmodo. I would need time to explore the Slack. Can't say much now. But can you plug in Facebook if you can plug in Twitter, Google Drive, etc.?
What about Facebook group? Is it worse? Students know Facebook. For collaborative work my SS use mobile phone apps, Facebook.

FINAL THOUGHT: I would prefer to use it with my colleagues and management instead of e-mails and Czech Bakalari internal system, which is terribly old with bugs.
