In the beginning of the war, the US needed men to be drafted and to fight in the war. This had then led to a shortage of works in many jobs and needed people to fill the slots. That's when women came in to fill these gaps cover for the men, it had also helped to build the foundation for equal pay and gender equality between male and female.

World War II was one of the main things that had influenced gender equality across America. Women had even taken part in the military, they had worked as nurses, drove trucks, repaired airplanes, and performed clerical work to free up men for combat. Without all this the war may not have even been won.

As men were drafted into the war, people did not know what could be done. But there was a solution many people did not want to look at as it was considered irrational and would never work out; employ the women. When men had left to go to war, many vital jobs that were needed in everyday life were missing and that gave the opportunity for women to come in. At first many people believed that they were incapable of doing what the men had done, but this was quickly disproved.

Women usually stayed at home and tended to house wife work and took care of the children while the men went out to work. But now life was completely different as people had needed to adapt to this new society. Women would now come in to work the industrial work and hard labor that men had usually worked. They had also wanted equal pay and had over time set the foundations for gender equality all over America.

Women would eventually be taken to be the equivalent of men and people would realize that they are not as "lady-like" or feminine as they seem. People began to realize that men and women can do the same work, and started paving the way for equality in America.

Women even took part in the military. People usually did not support women doing "manly" work or work that was usually meant for men. But without women taking these jobs and roles in the war, it could never have been won as they were so vital to winning the war. It was like being the backbone of the war.

Even after all the things women had done to support the war and taking up men's jobs, they would still be treated as an inequal to men. This could be argued that it is still present in today's life. After the war was over, men took over their jobs again and women were put out of their jobs.

World War II was a very bloody war and if it had not been for the people that had taken the roles of men and even supported them in combat, the US would not be where it is today. Many things would be different, yet even as they had worked alongside the men to help change the tides of the war, they were still discriminated against and treated with disrespect. People could argue that these actions even take place today and women are still discriminated against, treated as if they could not do what others can do. WWII had set the foundations and now it's up to today's people to finish it.
