A podcast is an ongoing digital audio program that releases regular 'episodes' that listeners subscribe to via feed.

Podcasts can be on ANY topic (which is perfect for inquiry learning). Educators can allow students choice within an overarching theme/curricular topic OR many allow students to create podcasts on a topic of their choice. Flexible grouping options allow students to choose whether to complete this task individually OR in small groups.

To make a podcast, you will need recording equipment (can use options that are built in to laptops/devices OR can use external options like a microphone), audio editing software (many free options e.g. Audacity), headphones, a quiet place to host your podcast and a way of distributing your podcast (e.g. a blog, on the class website etc.).
